Also just found this
So tempted to go in for him. Thats almost too cheap to be true and he is interested in joining! He can't get a game at Man City at the moment.

After a poor March, we desperatly needed to pick up some wins in April. Thankfully we did just that, starting with a 3-2 win over my former employers. Starting to regret sacking me Stoke City are you? Next up was a tricky away game at Southampton which I would've been pleased to get a draw in. We went one better and came away with a superb 2-0 win. That kept our paper thin chances of a top four finish alive, as did a win over Burnley to round the month off.
Its looking like it will be a fight between us and Arsenal for 5th place. Its still mathematically possible to get 2nd place, but thats not going to happen. Is going to be weird seeing Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City all missing out on CL football! May is going to be a tough one for us, we face Newcastle, Man Utd, Spurs and Chelsea in our end of season run in.
It wouldn't surprise me if one of the Arsenal, Chelsea or Man City managers gets the sack. That could possibly be a new path for me to take, we will see...

I would cash in Kike as well Benzia turns out to be decent

Nothing too amazing, but this just popped up in my inbox. Good to know my youth players are in safe hands!

So coming in to May, Europa League qualification was in our hands. Champions League was also possible but that would require a huge balls up from Southampton. We started the month off well with a 2-1 win over local rivals Newcastle. Next was a trip to league leaders Manchester United. It was a tough game but came away with 0 points and a 2-1 loss. No worry, we still had two more games to go. Spurs visited the Riverside next and things were going well as we found ourselves 4-2 up. But they came back to draw 4-4 and put us under real pressure from Arsenal and Everton going into the last game of the season. That final day fixture was against Chelsea, who we beat 9-0 earlier in the season. Unfortuantly there would be no repeat of that scoreline, although there were more goals this time. Chelsea got their revenge by beating us 8-3 at Stamford Bridge. A terrible performance, but was it enough to hold of the chasers?
Luckily it was. Arsenal grabbed 5th, but because the league cup winners also qualified for the Champions League, that opened up 6th place for the Europa League too. Everton finished in 7th behind us on goal difference. Had we won our last three games, we would've actually overtaken Southampton and qualified for the Champions League.
Following the last game, the board set our initial budgets. Not too bad, I can get one or two good players with that.

For the second season running, a Boro player won the golden boot, player of the year and young player of the year. Unfortunatly I didn't collect the managerial award. Salah and Nathan got into the team of the year with Kike only making the bench. Salah totally deserved everything he got, he was simply outstanding and even claimed the golden boot ahead of Kike who finished 2nd. A special mention to Nacer Chadli who finished joint top of the assists charts.
As for next season, well the Dortmund and Sevilla jobs have become available and it wouldn't surprise me if the Chelsea or Man CIty jobs will be joining them. Not sure yet, if nothing comes about then i'll happily carry on with Boro for now

Will be tough, but with some of the big teams screwing up last season the door to the top 4 is open.

I had a look at him but he would only be good enough for the bench. I decided against it because I already have two promising young strikers as backup and i'd much rather they got game time instead.

Last seasons 6th place finish got us into the Europa League qualification stage. We got a kind draw which should serve as a good warmup match for the group stages.

Yeah I did. Will update all the August results and transfer activity sometime tonight.

Despite having a £30m transfer budget, we only ended up spending £6.1m. That was mainly because we were able to get three new players on free transfers and one on loan. Robert is looking like a great buy for £2.5m. My staff tell me he has much more potential to fill which could see him turn into a great player. Also, he will be providing backup to Nathan who was a £3.4m signing last summer. I highly recommend you check out both of them should you need a AMC in the future!
Most of our transfers out were loans. We made a bit of a loss on Hanley but we did sell Clifford Aboagye for £6m. Aboagye had only signed for us last summer for £2.5m, but had to be loaned out due to work permit issues. Hull came in with a bid and with the potential arrival of Di Maria in the coming weeks, I decided to cash in. Lee Tomlin has also left for £2m going to join up with Wayne Rooney at Huddersfield.
As posted previously, we thumped Debrecen in the Europa League 1st leg. I fielded a second string team for the second leg and eventually went through 8-3 on aggregate. We then had to travel to Israel for the playoff tie with Maccabi Tel Aviv. It was the same story as the Debrecen game as we put six past them in the first leg and played a reserve team in the second leg with our progress already secured.
Just the three league games so far. A bad loss on the opening day to Southampton was followed up with a win over Hull and a draw away at Brighton.
The draw for the Europa League group stage was ok I guess. If we can win all our home games, then we should make it through this group.
The league table doesn't really matter after three games, but after that mixed start we are in 12th. Top 4 is the aim for this season!

Nathan looks a world class player for you since you brought him in few years ago

By the way, that player is the result of a regen facepack. Can be found HERE if anyone is interested in it.

September was a good month for the league, but not so great in the cups. Seven points from QPR, Aston Villa and Norwich is good, but a draw to Red Star and defeat to Fulham isn't. Our form is going to have to improve quickly with four of our next five games away from home, none of them are against crap teams either so its going to be a real test.
The decent league form has moved us up the table, with Stoke City being managed by David Moyes surprisingly leading the way early on. They have actually won every game so far, including two cup games. Just the one game in Europe so far, so the table doesn't mean anything yet.

Great work so far

October was a tough month for us with four away games. We started with a loss to Dinamo Moscow but responded well by beating Arsenal 2-1. The game against Everton was crap, we went 2-0 up but ended up losing 3-2 with Javier Hernandez scoring a treble for the away side. An unexpected 4-0 win at Villarreal and a 5-2 win at Man City completed the month. I think that might be three wins in a row away at Man City now, not bad!
We currently sit in 5th place, one place behind out target finish. Its vital that we win all three league games in November because our December fixture list is brutal. After that great win at Villarreal, we are 2nd in our Europa League group, five points behind Moscow who have won all their games so far.
