Ligue 1 Fixtures 2017/2018
Fast forward six months we're already more than halfway through the season and we have been absolutely fantastic so far really. PSG are finally starting to show that even they are human, albeit it being the result of their incompetency on the transfer market. I guess they have 7-8 players they have brought in for ridiculous high fees only to bench and eventually transfer list them a couple of months later. Monaco are also proving money don't necessarily buy class. Oh, and Bordeaux have been absolutely awful this season.
When signing Mammana as replacement for Cardozo, Umtiti was originally my first choice due to his French passport and all that but sadly he chose to follow the money and join PSG instead. Half a year later and he just realised he was yet another victim for PSG's poor transfer policy and got transfer listed. I didn't think twice about it and put £15M on the table meeting their price tag for him.
Another centre back of ours has been doing well for himself this last year.

Champions League 2017/2018
Last season our run in the Champions League ended in the playoff stages as we got eliminated by Manchester City on away goals. This time around we didn't need to qualify - thanks to our runner's up position in the league. However, we were 4th seeded for the group stage draw which would result in us getting a tough group. Real Madrid (La Liga winners and Champions League title holders), Sampdoria (Serie A winners) and Borussia Mönchengladbach (4th in Bundesliga).
Despite being tipped as massive underdogs even the European top sides would quickly learn that we certainly are no pushovers. In fact, we would go on and win all three home games with the 2-1 win over Real Madrid standing out as the biggest scalp. And we didn't perform too badly away from home either resulting in an absolutely fantastic group stage win!
The draw for the next round has been made and I firmly believe we stand a good chance against Galatasaray to progress to the next round. They finished 2nd behind Barcelona in Group H, with Basel and AZ Alkmaar as the two other teams.
