Unlucky at the end -- hopefully you'll get a club in a better position financially

Brilliant.

I was in the process of doing less frequent and more critical shorter updates.

After resigning from Oldham, I was offered the Brighton (Championship) and Gillingham (League Two) jobs. Rejected both and ended up taking the Coventry job in League One. With a very generous budget of £3.8 million! Just as I brought in my staff and identified my transfer targets for the Summer, I cleverly shut down my laptop for the night and didn't realise FM was open in the background.

Sick to the stomach.

Can't open the corrupt file and the other versions of the save go back as far as when I was at Oldham.

Gutted doesn't even come close.

Any suggestions for a new career?

I'm not looking to start one yet, a little burnt out after losing my Oldham-come-Coventry save.

I'm considering the following:
  • Derby County or Nottm Forest in the Championship.
  • Inter Milan - seldom do I go a 'big' club. I'll look to develop a more 'Italian' squad.
  • A club in the Chinese Super League with the goal of developing the league and competing with the likes of Drogba, Anelka etc.
  • FC Lorient or Montpellier in Ligue 1.
  • QPR or Aston Villa in the Premier League. Both perennial underachievers this season with the aim of developing both teams into Europe.
I'm welcome to other suggestions.

I think Inter Milan is a good challenge. They're actually in a lot of debt so it adds an extra dimention to what you're trying to do

Could be interesting.

Also considering some of the bigger teams in Turkey or Greece with the goal of a decent run in the Champions or Europa Leagues.

I've just read this story from the start, and with you securing the Coventry job, I was excited for the next installment to see what you'd do with the team I support... sad to hear it's dead, and good luck with your next career.

Derby would be an interesting career, Forest and QPR should have some decent financial backing which would make them attractive challenges too.

I've not got FM13 yet, so didn't realise Inter had debt issues. I wonder what affect that would have on the team?

Good luck with whichever career you choose.

Thanks for the comments, mate.

I was absolutely gutted! As you can see from the amount of updates, I was very determined with my first career!

Haven't got it in me to go back to February with Oldham. The only reason I mentioned QPR/Forest was the financial backing. Be quite fun (I think) to develop them into solid Premier League sides.

Hopefully I can find a decent career and challenge.
