Your chairmans comment at the start of the season didn't help the team really, maybe they felt pressured.

Its a really open league, this season compared with recent years.

Haha 100 points was a bit farfetched. Sharpy actually had a local chippy in Wigan that went bankrupt a few years back so I doubt he has the foggiest of ideas of what he's supposed to be doing. We're getting a Dave Whelan statue outside the stadium soon that'll probably cost the same as a decent RBs wages.

I've been to all but 2 games this year and considering the teams makeover with relegation and how young these lads are its good to see them getting better each week. If we can get our hands on a decent right back, keep our strike pairing injury free and revert to 4-4-2 without the Barcelona tactics I think 85-90+ points is realistic mate.

Fantastic 2-1 win over Coventry today! Not the quickest, free-flowing football match ever to be seen but high standard nevertheless. Could have been 2-2 if it wasn't for Coventry's lack of end product but also could have been three for us if Leon Clarke had squared it in stoppage time but really pleased with how the team played today. Couldn't even pick a MOTM if I wanted to. Leon Clarke, Peter Clarke, Cameron, Soares, Hussey all brilliant today, but Leon Clarke scoring both our goals justifies his sponsor's MOTM though.

We're up to fifth now, so really really pleased with how the team has fought themselves back into it after the first few games but of course, we've got Peterboro away coming up now on tuesday with Graham fucking Westley in charge, so expect some drama there everyone.

Sacking Warburton clearly worked. Weren't they in the play offs last season?

Yeah I believe they were.

But meh, Brentford's loss is (at the moment) Rangers' gain.

Surprised he (Evans) wasn't in lined up for the Peterboro job. Lives in that area and is good mates with DMac and Fry, so very odd that. Good mates with Flitcroft aswell so no further Rotherham rejects for us then

I agree too long. Been very busy. Decided to come back and read a few of the careers and then I remembered this thread! I will have a career up for FM16.

Agreed but to be fair to Evans, he is a pretty good manager with a good record.

There's been half a rumour (if you like) of our manager Paul Hurst being linked with the Rotherham job. Cult hero in their parts having used to play for them.

Our good run continued yesterday as we beat Peterboro 3-2 away. And that was more than deserved. We completely outplayed them apart from a few minutes where we needed a bit of a break and take the foot off the gas which seemed to tire them as Posh looked pretty flat towards the end of the game. Very dominant with our passing, possession was really good for an away game and to be fair it's not like Peterborough were just hoofing it (as you'd expect from a Westley side), they were playing some pretty nice stuff aswell but just were too negative with their back passes. Both their goals came from corner where Cameron just fell asleep and allowed Zakuani to head home twice, but that was also down to Maddison's fantastic deliveries. Leon Clarke and Tom Pope both scoring again, what a find these two were. Social basket cases yes, but they work terrifically. Clincal finish from Nathan Cameron too!

This puts us into 4th, last 5 league games all won and SIXTEEN consecutive away league games unbeaten. Not too shabby at all.

Graham Alexander got the boot at Fleetwood today. Not surprising given their recent dip in form. My money is on Monsieur Evans taking the job

Terry Butcher sacked at Newport County. Do you remember when a manager got time until christmas to sort things out? Chairmen seem to be very happy to pull the trigger as soon as possible now

Strange that, I'd heard Newport had fuck all money because their lottery winning owner pulled out because he's only now realised what a sinkhole owning a football club is, which is why they were doing so poorly because they didn't/couldn't give Butcher the budget of last season in the first place, in fact they cut it significantly to lower than some Conference teams! So 1. I don't see how it's fair to not give a manager, however good he may or may not be, the resources to succeed and then sack him for not succeeding and 2. Where did the money come from to sack him?

I can see Newport being in trouble this year.

First half: OK. Shouldn't have been losing. One mistake, one goal down. Had the better chances, plenty to build on.

Second half: Jesus. Lynch was good. Whitehead was all right. Miller towed his guts out but clearly doesn't have the quality (though it would help him if people tried to give him support). That was it. Goals came from lacksadaisical play. Davidson had a shocker. Scannell needs dropping (and it would be easier to do so if we hadn't loaned Lolley out). Powell didn't help his recent rise in my estimations by going back to early-season faffing about with decisions and looking tactically clueless.

Kudos the the ref on a decent display after two of the softest early yellows ever gave me the idea that he would be card-happy. Unbelievably good decision not to give Wolves a penalty after Le Fondre's dive - I thought it was a nailed on penalty on first viewing, and only on the replay did I notice he was down before contact, via an outreaching boot.

Another win today for us as we beat Colchester away 1-0. Leon Clarke on the scoresheet again, against a very tough and difficult side to play against. Rob Lainton made couple of great saves so he really kept us in it but overall the whole defence has done well. This was just a case of being patient and we did just that.

This makes it six legaue wins on the bounce and seventeen consecutive away games unbeaten. Up to third aswell, feels like fucking dreamland mate

Tickets came through yesterday for you men next saturday. Never been before but I hope it isnt as big a shithole as some of the places we've been this season.

Cant argue with 0-0 against Walsall they were shite to be honest and we were hammering them before the red. Another red and a shit ref its getting a bit too much now. The new signings from boro and united looked good. Not sure we should be proud of this undefeated run at home too many 1 pointers.

That is to be debated But it's a ground with much tradition and is a decent day out for a away supporter if you ask me in my biased view. Anyway, you should be seating down the stand because of some pillars the view might be a bit crap further up the away end. Also: Use your toilets at home, because the ones in the away end are a bit shit from what I've heard.

Should be a good game this no matter how this one ends. We are enjoying a great run and your lot is dangerous, of that I'm sure about. I expect a much improved side from the one we played in the League Cup eralier this season

They're looking good from what I've seen on channel 5 Clarke seems to be knocking them in for fun. You'll see on Saturday just how shit we are passing it around the back and waiting for a perfect pass that never comes. Lookout for Wildschut we're all preying he gets a start, but we've got like 6 injured, 2 banned and 2 on international so its a good job we have depth this season. Looking forward to it pal I doubt any of us will be sat down we've been taking between 1-1.7k away fans so it'll be a good atmosphere. Crewe away tonight in the paint trophy going straight from work hope traffic is alright on the m6.

We've got Exeter tonight in the JPT, and this isn't me covering my ass or anything, but I don't really mind if we go out tonight; promotion is looking good this year and we've only got a small squad do I'd prefer to concentrate on the league.

Yeah it was quite comfortable. We were fantastic first half and should've been 3/4/5 up, but only scored one (just like on Saturday). Floodlight failure delayed the start of the second half by 20 minutes which didn't help my hour long journey home any more! Scored a cracking goal in the second half and, bar a few good stops, our 'keeper had relatively little to do.

We need to improve our finishing though, could've scored a tonne in the past three games.

Nice to see you've taken a keen interest Sam!
