Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has called on his players to build a legacy after snatching the title from city Rivals Manchester United in the last minute last season.

Mancini said: "It is now going to be harder to retain the title because United will come back stronger than ever. It's down to us to keep our head and retain the title to hold power within the city. I believe in my players and I believe we will retain the title and win another cup, maybe the Champions League?"

On speculation on his future Mancini added: "I am happy at City and I am sure City are happy with me. I understand the demands at a club like this and I couldn't have done much better than I did last season. If the owner decide's I am not good enough then he will get rid of me, that's football and I get on with it."
