Results
Our friendly results were positive as we remained unbeaten! Although all of our games were winnable I am pleased we didn't lose. Especially as alot of youngsters played and scored during these games.
We have a transfer embargo in real life which is really holding us back and it's the exact same on FM meaning I could not sign anyone in the summer, I was able to sell alot of players most of them youngsters going on frees as they are not good enough. But I also got small fees for some of the senior players and a few players went out on short term loans.
Here are our results so far! A shocking start left me wondering what was going on. But a tactical change from a 4-4-2 to a 4-4-1-1 worked a treat and we have really started to climb the table we had a brief mini revival but then lost a few games. Thankfully we had a full on revival! Which led to me getting manager of the month October and the top 3 for player of the month consisting of my players.
Here is the league table! We are sitting nicely in the play off positions hopefully we remain there come May, we are also the top scorers in the whole league.
Here is how the players have performed so far! Rhodes is obviously the standout with the amount of goals he has scored but Lawrence has also been excellent unfortunately he goes back to Leicester in January.
Goalkeepers-
Both keepers have been given similar chances! And have both performed really well I am struggling to decide on a number one at the moment.
Defenders-
Adam Henley has been the stand out at right back with some great performances as well as scoring. Olsson and Spurr have rotated at left back and performed well, Kilgallon and Duffy have been my main 2 cbs and have done really well both averaging over 7.
Midfielders -
Conway and Evans are the stand outs, Conway scoring a great free kick and assisting a fair few goals. Evans looking very solid in the middle, I have rotated quite a bit but Akpan and Evans have been my best pairing.
Attacking midfielders -
Tom Lawrence has played nearly every game in the role behind the striker and has been brilliant scored quite a few goals and alot of assists as well as a great average rating. We are going to miss him badly when he goes back in January.
Strikers -
Rhodes is the star man and has scored alot of goals and as I only play one striker the others have not had much of a chance and have had to play mostly from the wing! They have all grabbed a goal so hopefully that will continue.

Slow start to life at Blackburn but good turn around

Thanks alot Dan! Great to hear you enjoy them
Yeah very slow but we are predicted 17th so we have turned it round well.

Thanks mate, Yeah the Rhodes goals will be crucial! If we don't go up I doubt I will be able to keep hold of him for too long.

I know was awful, tactical change worked well. I know thankfully! Rhodes missed a penalty in that game too!

We finished December with back to back defeats we deserved a point against Middlesbrough but against Bolton we were awful and deserved to lose.
But we started January very well! Winning away at Cardiff thanks to a Jones own goal and late Spurr goal. Then drawing with Liverpool at home in the FA cup! Henderson scored for them but that man Rhodes got us a late leveler.
Next up was back to back home wins without conceding a goal against QPR and Brighton! Rhodes with another double and Heskey 4 minutes into his debut scored from close range!! Against Brighton we missed quite a few chances and it looked like a 0-0 but Spurr and Akpan grabbed late goals to seal a win!
We were outclassed by Liverpool at Anfield and it was very different to the first game, we were never in the game as they went through comfortably, it was a very tough first round draw so I am not too disheartened. We bounced back with a 2-1 win at Charlton through Akpan and a Henley cross which went straight in they got back in it and created chance after chance and should have got a draw.
We finished the month with a home draw against Fulham we were the better team but didn't create much and faded as the game wore on mainly due to Rhodes going off injured.
We are going along nicely in the league just a point off the automatics and nicely in the play offs! Long may it continue!
I am happy with the players signed! As you can tell we got put of the embargo on the 1st of January.Conway and Olsson would not sign new deals and both were out in the summer so they had to go.
Here are all the signings.
Delighted to sign a new deal!
Some awful news after the Fulham game
Good to see!

Thanks mate! Yeah it could well be it was a tough draw, hopefully it will help with the promotion push!

We started the month with a great win away at 2nd placed Middlesbrough. Going 2-0 up inside 4 minutes through Marshall and Heskey! And Marshall sealing the win with 20 minutes left, they got a late consolation.
We came back down to earth as we lost to a good Hull side they deserved the win and could have scored more as Akpom and Hernandez were very threatening. Heskey did get us an equalizer to make it 1-1 with his 3rd goal in 3 starts! But it was not enough.
Another brilliant away win at Derby as we went 2-0 up inside 20 minutes as O'Sullivan and Marshall scored, Martin scored a late stunner for them but we held on!
We finished the month poorly with a 2-1 loss at home to MK Dons we played poorly but went 1-0 up through Hanley with a header but they scored in the 85th and then the 92nd minute to seal a win which was gutting for me.
We are still in the play offs and aiming for automatic promotion!
Great news

We started the month with a brilliant win, smashing Ipswich 4-0! With 2 goals in each half.
We lost the big Lancashire derby against Burnley which will upset the fans. But at least we won the home game. We were 2-0 down inside 10 minutes, Evans scored a brilliant goal to get us back in it, but they went 3-1 up. Heskey replied to make it 3-2 at half time but they finished the game off in the second half. It was a blow as Burnley are also our promotion rivals.
We then beat Birmingham very comfortably as we were 3-0 up at half time! Kike getting his first for the club which is great to see . We were poor second half but the game was won.
Next up was a thriller at home to Leeds, Rhodes coming back from injury and grabbing 2 and Lawrence getting late goal to give us a vital win and keep us in the automatic promotion race.
We finished the month with a bore draw at Brentford we had 2 shots on target they only had 1. It was a poor game and a draw was fair.
Lawrence and Marshall doing well.
We are one point behind Middlesbrough with 8 games to go! Very close, we should at least get a play off place but hopefully we can pip Middlesbrough and big rivals Burnley to 2nd place.
Well done Lawrence

I'm manager of Blackburn also, only in November though so fair way behind you. I'm in 6th at the minute having signed no players (hopefully get some free's & loans in January)
Just a quick one, how are you playing Rhodes, i have him as Poacher, but he's offside 4/5 times a game, & i'm trying to train his positioning but to no success so far.
Thanks man.
