How to make a direct free-kick?

I can not find anything that I can command my selected player to have a direct free-kick instead of crossing or passing the ball... Is there a command that allow me to do so?

Don't think there is, i believe it just goes by the distance from goal depending on whether the player shoots or passes the ball.

Correct you can not tell them when to shoot or pass only how to in different situations
