Passing game

So, fans not happy that I'm not playing a passing game. I've got my tactics set to retain possession and tried it with mixed passing, short and direct with an attacking mentality (as required by the board) but although the fans and board like the attacking style, they are not happy with lack of passing game. What have I missed settings wise to achieve this passing game they want, I have players with good passing and dribbling skills?

Short passing
Retain Possession
Play out of defence
lower tempo
work ball into box

Hi, Yeah forgot to say I have play out of defence and work ball into box set as well. The only difference i have from your setting is tempo, I have it set to fast. I'll give slow a go and see what happens.

slow should hopefully see more passes completed and less errors as your players will slow down and play the safe option instead of trying to hit fast balls.

Set your mentality to control instead of attacking and see how that goes. You should complete plenty of passes and still be quite attacking since you have the work ball into box instruction set.
