FM16 - Susie On Tour #1: Christmas Special

FC Santa Claus are one the most unique footballing team names in the world, and they will be your club to manage for this first stage of the tour. You join this little Finish club in an interesting stage in its history. The club has been on somewhat of a rise of late, with promotions into the third tier of Finish football. The club has yet to produce much talent of note but some players who have featured at the club in the past have gone onto reasonable things in Finish football. Some adequate facilities awaits and a basic youth setup will ensure a good challenge for the Lapland club. Promotion should be firmly on the cards if all players stay fit and healthy. Can you take this little club and make it a powerhouse in Finish football? Do you have what it takes to take up the reigns of the official club of Christmas?





FC Santa Claus AC (abbreviated Santa) is a football club from Rovaniemi (Lapland), Finland. The club was formed in 1993 following the amalgamation of Rovaniemen Reipas and Rovaniemen Lappi football clubs. FC Santa Claus won its group in Kakkonen, but lost promotion play-offs final to HIFK and failed to gain promotion to the Ykkonen league in 2010.

CHALLENGE DYNAMICS

This challenge will last for three years, upon completing your third season in Finland (1st November 2018), you can no longer collect points for this destination.

You must start set your manager experience as Coaching Badges None and Playing Experience Sunday League Footballer and play in a new save from December 2014.

You have until 6pm BST on 11th January 2016 to submit your screenshots in this thread, and accumulate as many points as you can within the confines of a maximum of 3 seasons in the game.

You may not manage any other teams, or use other programs to aid you in this challenge

You may not use any editor or scouting software.

You may add any additional leagues as you so wish.

Got this loaded up last night and made a start, still in pre season but won the first cup tie so into the 4th round, should have plenty of time to get stuck in next week when i'm not at work.

The Cup run never really got going for us meaning I failed to score any points during the cup run as we were knocked out in the fourth round of the Suomen Cup. We entered in the third round, had a good first round but then slipped to defeat.


The league season can be viewed in two different ways, the first half of the season then the second half of the season. We started the league season really slowly and never really got going. It was nine games until we got comfortable in the league having picked up just one win in those opening nine games. After that we picked up nine wins in thirteen league games and improved heavily. So how many points did that work out as...


We finished sixth in the league which immediately earns me a whole four points! But I also ended up with Paavilainen ending up as the top goal scorer in the league this season which I believe earns me another twenty five points (Cymro please confirm)

If all above is correct I should be on 29 points after season one.

Are you going to do individual leaderboards in the OP? and an overall 'pinned' leaderboard adding up points from each challenge as a new thread as we did last year?

Yep will be a league table at some point on the opening post and an overall leader board too.

Started it last night and got a fair way in, then bossed through it this morning, have only Finland loaded and a rapid computer its doing the trick I also play full match speed, no highlights and only commentary

Ah that makes sense, i'll probably setup similar for these challenges to make sure I get 3 season done in time haha

That was my plan, I should have season two done by the end of today so will post that up when I'm done, its been a much better season this year!

Again we've had another poor cup performance and this time we failed to even get out the first round we entered. The Third Round of the cup was our exit point as we disappointingly lost out two nil.


A wonderful league season this year around, we performed much better off the start this year and it made all the difference. Just three league defeats all season and with seven draws it proved to be a very good year, how would that be replicated in the league though...


A superb transformation after last season, sixth was good, we went into this year still ranked at 150-1 to win the league but we trumped those odds as we shot straight to the top spot and clinched the league title by a massive eight points. We also had the best goal difference in the league this season so definitely deserved it, no top scorer bonus this year but first place finish earns me another twenty five points.

Could we win the playoff title too.


Indeed we could! We drew our first game and then went on to win our second one which ended up being enough to seal the top spot of the playoff group as well. I believe this earns me another ten points too.

If all above is correct I should be have 35points for season two.

Had a chance of getting some extra points as we faced RoPs in the fourth round of the cup, however we failed to beat them which means we crashed out in the fourth round for a second time in three seasons, all three seasons I failed to make it past this round of the cup.


The league didn't seem to be that much more competitive here, we were in first spot many a times this season but I'l tell you now, we failed to win the league, however with the board wanting us to attempt to avoid relegation I felt confident enough. Just one defeat in the opening twelve league games saw us fly to the top. Unfortunately it went down hill at the end as we won just two of our final eight league games.


Well what a superb season it had been, we finished all the way up in third and narrowly missed out on winning back to back league titles and back to back promotions (however when I was top or second it took away the promotion spot, not sure why we couldn't go up again?) However a third place finish was very pleasing for me and the board, they offered me a new contract which I turned down as I had completed the 'tour'. So for the final season a third place finish earns me another ten points, missing out on five more by goal difference alone!

If all above is correct I should be have 10points for season three.

Just loaded it up and found out it hadn't saved so gotta start again, not that i'd done much only played 1 competitive game but lost all my scouting and signings ... joy!

Anyone else doing this? It really kicked off last year!

I will probably join in the next challenge. Not going to have the time for this one between work and going away

Probably have an update soon, when the board have sacked me! 7 league games in and got 10 points but they're not happy.

EDIT -

On the verge of getting sacked now, SI's outweighed thoughts on the effects of morale are killing me, the team is generally performing well yet losing 2 or 3-0 every game and I can't stop it. Been set a points target by the board and also looking like going down.

Season 1 Round Up

Made it through the first 2 rounds in the cup but knocked out by a side from our division in Round 5. No points there then!




Just about managed to stay up finishing 8th but it was all too close for comfort on the final day as you will soon hear about, as you can see no top scorer and in fact the league top scorer got just 3 goals less than my entire team!!




Picked up 4 wins from the opening 8 games but a mid season slump had us deep in trouble, having taken just 1 win from 9 we had just 18 points with 5 games to play, 2 wins and a draw from the next 5 sent us in to the final day on 25 points and knowing a win would keep us up. We were leading on the final day but knew if we failed to win we would go down, Hercules were 3-0 up and we conceded with just 10 to play making it 1-1! We threw everything forward and a late strike from Hanhela kept us in the division!


A massive 2 points for me ... what an absolute waste of my life!

Just got a crash dump in pre season and lost the finish to season 1, not playing it again so i'll just settle on 2 points fro this round and wait for the next.
