Hi all sorry if this is in the wrong location, I'm after some advice on a save I'm doing with Welsh premier league side Connah's Quay, I'm currently playing in season 2019/20 and after a settling in period during 2015/2016 season finishing 7th in league before the league split then winning the play off final to qualify for the cl qualifiers which didn't go to far. I've since won the league in 16/17,17/18 and 18/19 seasons which has been helped by some good quality signings and my favoured tactic I use with pretty much every team I manage. I've also won the jd Welsh cup in 2017 and the word cup in 2016,2018 and 2019.
All this success has improved the Welsh premier leagues standing in European league competitions table from 102 upto 94. With Connah's becoming the most reputable club in Wales ahead of TNS.
But I have now hit a brick wall in regards of progress as every year I take part in the Champions league qualifying stage and I never get past the 2nd rnd of qualifiers due to the draw providing me me far superior opposition. That and due to my players all being part timers there fitness in pre season when the qualifiers take place is well below par, resulting in humiliating defeats.

My question is how do I get past this, the board won't allow me to go professional due to financial restraints even tho I've made them lots of money through participation in the qualifying stages and through one significant player sale of Callum Terrell the leagues top goal scorer every year I've been in charge who had a record of 87 goals in 115 appearances at the time of sale at the beginning of pre season for the current 19/20 season when rangers made an offer of £375k for him which obviously I had no option to turn down as that kind of money can change a club like Connah' future.
They are also not allowing me to improve training facilities which is meaning first team players are not developing as they could. However they have started upgrading the youth facilities this season so hopefully that will help bring through some better youth players.

Only way I can take this club further and complete my ambition of Winning the Champions league is by getting more cash but as I can't get into group stages I can't get that much needed cash. Don't get me wrong I know I will get beaten heavily even if I do get into the group stages but it earns the club almost £1M if not more every season that I get there which will in turn hopefully convince the board to go professional and improve facilities. And allow me to sign much better players as a result of the leagues growing reputation.

So please can someone help me to find a way to get through this and qualify for the group stages without cheating as my saves are always clean and what ever happens happens.

Thanks for taking time to read, and hopefully thanks for your assistance in getting me to the Champions league group stages in advance lol

The Welsh Prem team in Europe is a top slog. Done it many times and it takes ages, partly because of the problem you encounter. You are at the period when you need a bit of luck, when you need a few results to go your way in Europe to take you to the group stages. Once you get there you will find things get easier. Winning the league is just formality now, your entire season is now based on Europe. Just keep going.
