Resilience to beat our fierce rivals away from home.
Red card, 1-0 down. Youngster Jason Tre having his Martial moment, Rashford who was on a poor run grabs a winner in the 92nd minute. Incredible.
SUMMARY
Wow. Just wow. My team deserve so much credit for turning this all around, four wins in a row against teams all close to us. Scoring goals, comebacks, just fantastic! Morale is high, one game to go and suddenly we could get automatic promotion! The final match is Swindon away, who are 23rd, this is a fantastic chance!

Disappointed. Didn't turn up at all and were poor all game. Bolton also lost, but Shrewsbury got their win and leapfrogged me by one goal. But hey, I got to the playoffs, beat expectations! Let's hope I can get past Barnsley and get to Wembley at least!

Great performance over both legs. First leg we were a bit lucky, but the second leg at home we were very comfortable. Portsmouth at Wembley here we go, both of us fighting for a successive promotion.

PROMOTED! Absolutely delighted, very proud of my team! A successive promotion and now we're up to the Championship! I don't expect a third promotion in a row, but I'm happy nonetheless.

Good luck in the Championship but no doubt that'll be much more difficult.

END OF SEASON REVIEW
MISC
Millwall offered me an interview, turned it down.
Lyle Taylor, Adebayo Azeez, Edouard Schoenecker, Christian Tonga and William Nightingale all are being letting go in the summer.
Board are upgrading youth facilities and expanding the stadium by 750 seats.
SUMMARY
A tough season but a fantastic end. Started off okay, then it got kind of scrappy, then we went on a fantastic run which pushed us into the playoffs. Then we went on a decline but managed to push ourselves back up again. Fantastic strength in the squad but I'm not forgetting that scrappy period + that slump we had near the end. The team is going to need a big build, and it will probably take a few years. I'm not expecting to get in the PL straight away, nor do I want to because we'd just go straight back down, we need to build a quality team and get some youth in. The board investing in the youth facilities is brilliant, a stadium expansion also great, plus I've been given a £2M budget for the summer. All my previous transfers have been freebies and loan deals, so spending money will be scary haha! I hate the term project but that's what I'll be doing here, and of course hopefully staying up!

PRE SEASON 2017/18
TRANSFERS
Spent money, crazy stuff! Most of my transfer budget was accommodated to wages, Obika being my main signing for £300k. Tyler Walker extended his loan for another year, likewise Marcus Rashford. Very happy with my signings overall, from Barnett to Prendergast are players for the future, great potential.
FIRST TEAM SQUAD
FORMATIONS
A bit of tinkering in pre season, a new more modern 4-3-3 wide to add more width to my matches when needed. Samu, Rashford and Kawaya will mainly play in the wider positions and cut inside.
RESULTS
SUMMARY
A decent pre season, tactics seem to be working okay. Expanded my coaching team either further, plus my scouting has been expanded to worldwide so new scouts have been bought in. Very happy with my signings, quite a few players who can play in a variety of positions which is good for cover! Open up my league campaign against also promoted Scunthorpe. Tough season ahead!

Boli Bolingoli from Club Brugge and Roland Toth from Steaua added on loan for wide support.
Kaan Baysal out for 2 months.
SUMMARY
As you can see, a tough start. Welcome to the Championship! What I've learnt is I have to play far tighter and narrower, against all my beliefs! For the Norwich game I decided to sit back and switch to 4-1-4-1 and counter, which lead to me taking the lead and playing very well, unlucky not to hold on and grab a win. New players geling and a lot of competition for places. I will still use the 4-3-3 from time to time, but only when necessary. With the need for wingers I got in two loan deals on deadline day. Should have beaten Scunthorpe, and should have got a draw against Watford and should have beaten Everton but conceded in the last minute, which hurt a lot. Another painful defeat to Everton, heard that before! Baysal being injured is a big loss.

SUMMARY
A good month, really tough, but the work rate in this team is great. Good results, the Everton game I should have got a point out of, equalised with ten men but couldn't hold on (against Everton, as per usual!) but a good win against Burnley and an even better one against Sunderland - going a goal down to win it. Picking up a few reds, need to cut that out a little. A couple of the new signings aren't performing well, but Samu is playing brilliantly - creative player who offers so much.

Obika out for just over a month.
Clarke-Salter out for 3 weeks.
SUMMARY
On paper some very good results, nice easy win over Shrewsbury and a string of 1-1 draws, ending with a poor defeat. I should have beaten out of form Brenford and should have lost against Cardiff! The football isn't pretty, but I just want to survive this season and focus on the football next season! Samu and Obika link up well, sadly Obika is out - but it gives Veldwijk a chance to improve, so far he has been a very poor signing - only one goal, and he's on a pretty expensive contract for two years. For some reason my fans don't like Stephen Ward for some reason, it's weird on this game when the fans turn against a signing who hasn't done much wrong! Same with my keeper Robin Heller.

Baysall injured again - five weeks.
Francomb seven weeks. Fox two weeks.
SUMMARY
A short month, and not a great one. We're becoming quite the draw specialists, 1-1 is our favourite scoreline! 11 draws, seven of them 1-1. But we're not winning enough games, and that needs to happen soon. Luck is going against us, we should have got a win against Blackburn, took the lead, they went down to ten men after 1-2 and we went at them, one counter attack from them and it's 1-3. Fans were 'devastated' at the loss, oh please, dramatic much! Injuries also unsettling the team, I can't get a steady lineup going - Baysal returned and was injured again after 2 games, 5 weeks out. David Fox out for two weeks, Francomb out for 7 weeks and has declined in quality. Fox is my vice captain and Francomb is my captain, no leader on the pitch. Obika is back though, hoping he can get the goals in. Samu shining as usual, I'm letting him drift out to AMR and he's thriving.

Liverpool at home in the FA Cup Third Round.
SUMMARY
Much better month. Bad start against Fulham in which I took the lead and messed up at the end. This lead to a team meeting in an attempt to boost morale, in which the players left in better spirits. Tweaked a few things tactically against Brighton and was all over them, went out all guns blazing. And then we had a superb away win against Forest, a goal in each half and a good defensive performance. Should have beaten Middlesborough, easy win over relegation threatened Scunthorpe and a lucky draw against Reading. Those 1-1s keep on appearing, that's 10 now and 14 draws overall! Thanks to this good month I'm 10 points clear of relegation. Trying to get Samu on a new deal, he only has a £1M release fee clause, looks like he'll sign. Half my team have deals expiring in six months and most of those will be leaving. Liverpool coming up soon, bring it on!

David Fox out on loan to Exeter.
SUMMARY
Good performances but only one win. The Liverpool game we were barely in it, was very poor, but my fans in the monthly round up were 'disappointed', what were they expecting?! Unlucky against Bristol City, should have gotten a draw out of it, but they are 3rd. Me and David Fox has a fall out over lack of first team football - he has been dire, and he wouldn't let the matter drop so I've sent him out on loan, his contract is up in the summer. For the first time on FM a few of my players agreed with my treatment of him, saying he doesn't deserve first team football! 12 points clear of relegation but sit in 19th place. 50 points is the common target to stay up, but I may not need to reach that high.

Everything is a mess!
FYI: Most draws in a league season: 23, which is a joint record. I'm 6 away!
SUMMARY
Travesty. A month that started really well with a great draw away to 2nd place Norwich, then a win against relegation rivals Sheff Wed and then it just went down the drain, then some redemption with the Sunderland. But overall it's been absolutely horrendous. Hard teams to play against but there was no passion in the team whatsoever. Nobody can score and nobody can defend, I'm praying this season is over asap so I can get rid of all the crap in this squad. Signings haven't worked out at all, all my defenders are out of form, it's just a mess I cannot wait to fix. But I need this season gone. Still 12 points above relegation, I'm confident of staying in the Championship, I just need a summer to rebuild and rethink my tactics. Maybe I have high standards, but this season has been a challenge and a mess!

SUMMARY
A much better month, mainly due to setting up far more defensively and riding our luck. But hey, we're staying up, mission accomplished! Goals definitely a huge problem this season, nobody is regularly scoring and there's no creativity. Except for strikers my loan signings have been great, hope to get a couple of them permanently. Not only am I having a overhaul in the squad but also I need better staff in, so look forward to improving there too. Looking forward to next season.

WE'RE GOING HOME TO PLOUGH LANE!
SUMMARY
A pretty uninspiring final two months of the season. Lack of goals continues, I swear top scorer Obika has been stuck on 7 goals throughout 2018! But a nice win over Boro to wrap up the season, in which I leapfrogged them to finish 18th. I spent most of the season 19th but I never really looked in danger of getting relegated. Delighted to see we're moving back home to Plough Lane! Well it's called 'New Plough Lane' but still, the club is building a new stadium with a capacity of 11,000 and will be finished in June 2019. Plus our Youth Rating has raised to Category Four. The future is looking bright for Wimbledon.

Bristol Rovers at home in the League Cup First Round.
SUMMARY
Very happy with how the pre season went, on paper the results don't look amazing but the performances were great. My style of play this season is focusing on counter attacking play, which is what I did try in the second half of last season but I couldn't do it with the unbalanced team I had. Plus a formation change: 4-2-4 Wide, allowing more width. With the removal of DMs as you can see we were leaking a few more goals in pre season, but we were scoring too! I had a lot of midfielders last season but most of them were defensive minded, hence why I spent a good £230k on Sean Goss - a playmaker. Craig Davies is brought in to replace Veldwijk, who St Mirren came in to snap up for £185k, delighted to sell him as he's been crap! The rest of my transfers were Spanish! Judging from his pre season, Pirulo looks like a star! He only wanted £7.25k p/m wages, but he looks like the DLF I've needed! Two goals in the highly impressive 3-1 win against Watford and then a hat trick against Almeria. Him and Samu linking up well with Goss in support and Bolingoli running in from the left - well that's the tactical plan! Some youngsters I've had in for a while are coming into the team - Prendergast and Jason Tre will be in the team a lot more this season. A lot of hard decisions made in letting players go, but none I regret. I might not be done with transfers just yet, still have a nice wage budget. A few players rejected me for other clubs, they'll regret it!! Optimistic about this season.

SUMMARY
A good start to the season considering the luck against us! Jake Reeves broke his leg four minutes into the game against Wolves, typical really my new captain! The first few fixtures were against playoff tipped Derby, recently relegated Wolves and Leicester and then Ipswich. Outclassed against Derby, took ages to get going against Bristol Rovers, last minute equaliser against Wolves, great results against Leicester and Ipswich and outclassed by Newcastle. Except for the Derby match we've played well in our matches, finally having more shots, Obika finally scored! I signed Borja from Castilla, I wanted to get him in the summer when his deal was up but he chose to stay. Zaragoza went in for him so I swept it, needed another creative midfielder alongside Sean Goss. With that in mind I sold Diakite, he's a good midfielder but our most defensive minded and he doesn't fit anymore in the style of play. Borja has started well, all my signings have aside from Craig Davies.

SUMMARY
A decent month. A terrific, well fought, 3-2 win over Burnley followed by a good win over Leeds. Then followed 3 successive draws, which were all deserved except the Millwall one. 2-0 up and threw it away - 92nd minute screamer. Team are playing far better than last season, up to 8th place. Playing with style, we're much more solid in defence, confident up front and not giving away needless fouls as much. Pirulo nearly has the same amount goals Obika got all of last season!
