Strange problem

Sometimes, in the middle of a match, I'm unable to do a quick sub or change my tactic. The buttons become slightly darker, and I can't press them. This ruins the whole match for me, and it often happens around 50-60min played. Does anyone know what the problem is, and how I can fix it?
