Has the match engine been fixed yet!? I'm assuming not! As my defenders don't seem to have any reaction at all... Too many times is the ball passed/knocked/rebounded near them, and they just don't move to it. Strikers then pounce in, take the ball and score!!

This is rediculous - it's nothing to do with tactics, morale, stats or anything like that... It's just shoddy coding, etc!

Although I'm still persevering with the game, I am quickly running out of patience!

Sort it out SI!!!!!

Issues are being addressed with each patch, but until then, just remember that AI teams are just as vulnerable to far-post crosses and throughballs behind their defenders. You can also negate the damage as much as possible by issuing the OI of "Close Down: Never" on opposition wingers and playing with a deeper defensive line.

I'm also finding there's way too many own goals... I literally have one virtually every game. Both for and against me - so it sort of levels out - but it's still annoying!!

Agreed, that one's a nuisance. Let's hope that's addressed in the next patch, whenever that may be.

19 clean sheets doesn't mean anything... I'm doing ok in the league, that's not my point - it's the defenders reactions that are still shit...

Defenders - Purely useless. Pass, pass, give ball away, goal. Or... Turn around slowly as a player easily makes run past him to go through on goal.

Goalkeepers - A pass back comes to Reina, he doesn't kick it, he dives on the floor and nudges the ball, Vitesse's striker scores.

I can't be bothered anymore. I give up, every game I start ends up me seeing the same crap to cost me games.

I'm going back to FM09 or 12, both of which don't make me feel like committing mass murder.

Try setting your match instructions to direct passing and playing with a deep defensive line, that should help you with those issues.

In my opinion the patch has made it worse! So frustrating, in real life players don't run past the ball. You can have 3 or 4 players near the ball and they will stand and look at it while the oppostion player runs from miles away to get the ball. Never known the game engine to be this bad, and I have played every version going back to the early Championship Manager days!
