Hi guys, so when I start a new save I prefer to disable first window transfer budgets to make the game more realistic. If your managing at a top club its not realistic to have a large budget to spend on players when the club has already spent there budget for that summer and those new signings are already in the squad. It is also not realistic to bring in 5 or 6 signings for the first team when the club has already brought in 4 or 5 players that summer, a top club would not bring 10+ first team signings in one summer. The obvious problem with this is that your stuck with another manager's signings for the whole season or at least until january. Even if you have the first window budget enabled you can't get rid of those new signings because they have only just joined, so you are stuck with them. This puts you at a big disadvantage because you may not have the right type of players to implement your ideas, and you may end up getting the sack before you ever get the chance to properly overhaul the squad.

My solution to this is to holiday the first season with transfer budgets disabled so that I can head into the summer 16/17 transfer window with the squads exactly as they are in real life, for the maximum realism. Of course even if you disable first window budgets you can't stop clubs from signing players in the january window, as far as i know the only way to stop clubs from signing players in january is to use the editor to give all clubs a transfer ban until the 16/17 summer window, if anyone knows of another way to achieve this goal that is not as time consuming then please let me know. If you wanted to go a step further in making the game as realistic as possible you could even use the editor to ensure that signings that were made in january in the reaI world don't go through until january in the game. I would like to get feedback from others on this topic, thanks...

I'm certain you add another country and start on a different date whilst also disabling first window. You'll have to look for a country that you can start in January of course, can't remember which ones allow it of the top of my head though i'm afraid.

so does that mean it will simulate league results up until january in the other leagues?

It does. I believe with Sweden you can start in Feb 2016

All the Nordic-countries with the exception of Denmark start their season in January.

so i started a game with the sweden start date, yes the game generates the fixture results in the other leagues but my issue is that the game doesn't seem to take into account attribute development in players over the period that the other leagues have been active for, the game just seems to give all players the same attributes as they have at the start of the game, so young players are losing 8 months worth of development time which is obviously not good. it seems the best option would be to start in september just after the window closes, are there any leagues that start in september or give me the option of a september start date? i am assuming that the disable first transfer window option would then kick in during the january window so no signings can be made in january.

ok so i found a league that starts in september, i selected disable opening transfer window thinking that it would block transfers in january but it doesn't for some reason, it looks like the only way to achieve what i want is to edit the database and give every club a transfer ban. i dont understand why they give you the option to disable opening window but not the second window, why can't they let you disable as many windows as you like...
