Three Lions, Three Teams

David Beckham is said to now be 'more than happy' with his staffing room within the English FA set up now following the recent signings of Paul Scholes, Teddy Sheringham, Nicky Butt, Wayne Bridge and Peter Beardsley. The former English international players will meet up with fellow new faces Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard as well as David himself as they begin to sort out training before the England teams meet again next month to begin friendlies.

For the first time since the new revolution began, all three England teams have been announced on the same day as all three teams prepare for matches in a weeks time to see out August and start September. It is believed David Beckham picked his squad for the senior team first and then left Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard to talk between themselves to sort out their squads.


There's a familiar look to David Beckham' first ever England squad as he perhaps plays his opening two games a little cautiously squad wise. However that being said, Beckham could hand first caps to two players as he calls up both Danny Drinkwater from Leicester and Jordan Ibe from Liverpool. Saido Berahino looks to pick up a second cap as he is also in the beckoning. Two big names miss out on call ups, Jordan Henderson who is still recovering from a hamstring injury and Wayne Rooney who misses out for Berahino/Vardy.


David Beckham will take charge of his first ever England game with a trip to Isreal as he'll see his three lions take on the minnows in a friendly. He'll then face a home nations derby to kick off the World Cup Qualifier groups with a trip up North to Scotland.


Steven Gerrard has named his first ever England squad with the under twenty ones to face two qualifiers over the next week. Woodman, Walker-Peters, Cook and Solanke have all done enough in the summer to move from the under nineteens to the under twenty ones on this occassion. Jordan Pickford will look to impress in goal. Calum Chambers, Dele Alli, Marcus Rashford and Patrick Roberts will be the big names on show.


Gerrard won't have friendlies to get his side ready however will face a 'weak' San Marino under twenty one side to kick off his reign in charge of the young guns. He'll travel away with his side to kick off the Euro u21 qualifiers before returning home four days later to play Hungary. Expecting two wins from two.


And finally Frank Lampard has announced this under nineteen line up for his sides friendlies. Following on from a few impressing names moving to the under twenty ones for this stint, Frank has named a changed side. Former Bolton keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen' son will feature for the under nineteens, also a goalkeeper. Jay Dasilva joins the back line which Reece Oxford remains in. Sheyi Ojo, Rankin-Costello, Jordan Rossiter and Ben Sheaf all keep their place from the summer tournament. A complete change to the strikers.


Franks men will be the busiest of the three sides as the under nineteens will face three friendlies over just six days. Two away trips to Poland and Hungary will kick off the stint, Frank the only manager who already has managed one of the sides. South Korea will be his first home game where they'll welcome them on the fifth September.

A couple of days into the English training camp David Beckham has told us there are no new injury concerns among any of the England squads that have been picked for match time this August and September. All three sides are in some sort of action over the next couple of weeks, all the players clearly looking to impress their new managers.

Its believed all three squads trained together for the first time since Beckham's arrival behind close doors in Wembley throughout the week before all three teams jet off to their away games. A few players weren't called upon by the respected managers because of slight knocks, but after the first couple days of training its good to hear there are no new injury issues.

Frank Lampard' young lions continued their impressive stint under his management this week as they picked up three more wins in just six days. Frank was given three friendlies for the international period as his side faced Poland and Hungary away from home and then was welcomed by a Wembley crowed as he faced South Korea in his first ever home game.

Poland u19s 1 - 2 England u19s - The first encounter was in Poland as Franks men produced a strong start with Sheyi Ojo giving them a one nil lead inside just two minutes. England kept knocking the door but the back line held strong. A second goal came through striker Folivi saw England cruising. Frank switched the side up for the final hour before conceding a consolation goal.


Hungary u19s 2 - 4 England u19s - A stunning come back by the young lions saw England win four two after trailing two nil early on. Home side Hungary raced into a two goal lead just after the half hour mark, leaving England battered and bruised. Ojo had managed to pull one back before the break with his second in as many games. Franks aggressive words of wisdom at half time clearly inspired his side, they came back out scoring three goals without reply to win the game. Goals from Humphreys, Davis and Hinds secured the win.


England u19s 4 - 1 South Korea - A great first home showing from England' youngest side saw them run riot against a weak South Korea side, eventually slumping to a four one defeat. Ojo made it three from three this international break as he continues to leave his mark opening the scoring. Sheaf was also on target before the break. Second half Rankin-Costello and Hinds both netted before Lampard rotated the team. There was a late goal for South Korea as England perhaps turned off.

David Beckham finally got chance to be shown off as England manager today as he took a strong team to Isreal for a friendly. England went on to win the game two one however the narrow victory was marred by two red cards, each side picking up one. Its not the best start to the reign of the former English midfielder, but he'll take the win.

England went on to win the game two one after starting strong and seeing Liverpool talisman Daniel Sturridge fine strike inside the box send the away side one nil up after just four minutes on the clock. England were pegged back though when Gershon netted for Isreal in the twentieth minute. At half time, the scores were tied, Beckham's team talk would be all important.

Second half commenced with little action, until the sixty fourth minute when Isreal were reduced to ten men. Sapan picking up a second yellow card, manager furious. Beckham put caution to the wind and threw men forward with a reward. Gary Cahill netting from a corner sent to the near post. But the two one win was marred by a late sending off to John Stones for a last man challenge.


An experimental side set out by David Beckham saw him refer to Jack Butland in goal over Joe Hart. The unusual formation saw three centre backs and two wing backs, they started as Clyne and Walker. Danny Drinkwater started for his first cap in the holding centre midfield role whilst an attacking front four of Ibe, Sterling, Vardy and Sturridge seemed to promise goals.

Steven Gerrard has also finally got his managerial career underway with two European U21 qualifying matches as they faced San Marino away and then welcomed Hungary for the second game of this international break. Gerrard took over the qualifying campaign with six of the ten games having all been played and England sitting in second place. They remain unbeaten through matches seven and eight.

San Marino U21 0 - 5 England U21 - A superb start to the former Liverpool midfielders managerial career saw his young England side run riot against lowly ranked San Marino in what turned out to be an easy win. Marcus Rashford stepped up from the Under 19s European Championships in the summer to score twice. There were goals for Gray, Redmond and Wilson too in the win.


England U21 3 - 0 Hungary U21 - Not only did Steven Gerrard start his career with back to back wins, but clean sheets too as he saw his three lions pick up a strong three nil win in his first ever home game. Nathan Redmond really proving a point to the boss and knocking on the front door the senior squad as he added two more to his tally. There was also a goal for young Dele Alli.


England still have work to do in their group should they wish to qualify to the latter rounds of the under 21 European Championships, a competition they missed out on this summer. An unbeaten Turkey currently lead the group by two points slipping to just one draw in their eight games. England remain second, also unbeaten however two draws (Turkey and Scotland). England and Turkey are still to go head to head so the top spot isn't out of reach yet.

Not much to say about those latest results, both expected scorelines. KIU pal.

England have lost their opening World Cup 2018 qualifying game as they slipped to a three two defeat against fellow home nations and fierce rival opponents Scotland. Scotland led three times and deserved their win over an England side that appeared to lack belief in the end. Struggling to find a final product when going forward.

Scotland triumphed three two in the 'battle of the home nations' which everyone was excited for, perhaps England fans now wondering if Beckham is the right man for the job. Snodgrass fired the Scots ahead after just three minutes and it appeared to be an uphill battle from then. England leveled through Daniel Sturridge as he continued to show good form. However they were only level for ten minutes as Griffiths fired Scotland back infront. Jamie Vardy repaid Beckham' faith put in him with a second equaliser for England seeing it all level at the break.


Second half things went against England, despite getting into the game more and having perhaps more of the ball, they slipped behind for a third and final time as Griffiths struck again for Scotland. Its only the first group game of the qualifiers, however this will put England up against it from the start. Beckham becomes the first of the three new England managers to lose a game.


Stats suggest England were more than in the game, however once again converting shots to shots on target being their biggest failure of the game and this ultimately costing them. They had the running share of possession throughout the ninety minutes and created most chances.

Ha, how do you lose to someone as sh*te as Scotland? #DanOut.

England boss David Beckham is said to 'extremely disappointed' with his senior team following the way in which they fell to a three two defeat against rivals and fellow home nations side Scotland. The defeat put a stutter among the start of the sides World Cup qualifying group after just one game and he knows they need to improve from this.

The game vs Scotland was just Beckham's second game in charge and his first competitive one at that. He began with a two one victory over Isreal but this will come as a set back as they lost to Scotland. It was a very heavily rotated side from that of the disappointing summer.

Beckham has also blamed the match officials and 'rugby like' challenges on the pitch for Scotland as his side picked up a coming knocks. Jamie Vardy was one who was forced off with an injury. "Gordron Strachan's men aren't playing football, some of those tackles don't belong in rugby let alone here on a football pitch". "The referee was too scared to pick these up and its costs up".

"I'm not only blaming the referee, as that'd be wrong. we played poorly, I set it up wrong and this is where it has all back fired on us". "We can't and won't go through blaming match officials when we don't do our best on the pitch to come away with the results". Beckham went on to add "this is a set back and has put us off the pace from the start, but there is a long way to go in this qualifying campaign and we'll be ready when the next set of matches come around".

Jordan Ibe has taken time out of his return to Liverpool for club football to thank David Beckham for his first ever cap at international level. Ibe was called up to the England squad to begin Beckham' reign and featured in both the friendly against Isreal and the three two defeat against Scotland.

Beckham went for a 'weakened' team on paper so to speak, giving fringe players of the England senior squad plenty of match time to show what they had at their disposal. England went on to battle against Isreal and win two onw, a fiery game saw two sending offs, one for either team. Ibe featured in this game where he won his first ever senior cap.

After Beckham stuck with the same team line up against Scotland, their first World Cup qualifying game, it backfired as they lost out three two in a topsy turvey game which could of gone either way. Ibe played well in this game, completing 81% of his passes made and scored a rating of 6.70.
