We, the Scottish FA, today announce that Gordon Strachan will be leaving his role as manager of Scotland. Gordon leaves with our thanks and our best wishes, but having seen all of the other home nations qualifying for the European Championships in France, we need to make changes to ensure that we will not miss out again.

In Strachan's place, we are looking to bring in a young coach who will oversee the rebuild of Scottish football, and build the nation's football on the back of some key factors:

• Introduce new players to the national set up
• Create a new, attacking brand of football from U19 to first team
• Bring in excellent coaches throughout the leagues to encourage player development

With this in mind, we are delighted to announce Will Schoolar as the new manager of the Scottish national side. Will is an integral part of the way we would like this nation and FA to evolve, and we will be looking for him to get his feet under the desk this summer as we prepare for our World Cup qualifying tournament. Our aim for this qualifying period is to reach the play off phase.

Cameron accepts Scotland Under 19s role
Colin Cameron has accepted Scotland manager Will Schoolar's offer of the role of Under 19s manager.

Raith Rovers icon Colin Cameron was born in Kirkcaldy on 23rd October 1972. In a playing career which spanned 25 years from 1990 to 2015, Cameron made 632 appearances and scored 104 goals. After making his Scotland debut against Germany in April 1998, he went on to make 28 appearances and score 2 goals for his country. Cameron, 43, lists the likes of Cowdenbeath and Berwick Rangers amongst his previous employers. Cameron, who enjoyed a playing career with Heart Of Midlothian, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Dundee, Milton Keynes Dons and six other teams, is currently unemployed following spells with Berwick Rangers and Cowdenbeath.

The appointment shows Schoolar's continued desire to surround himself with international experience, with Cameron, capped 28 times by Scotland, joining a setup that already includes Brian McClair and Stuart McCall.

Scotland Under 19s squad announced
Scotland Under 19s manager Colin Cameron has announced his squad for the forthcoming Euro U19 Championship.

Goalkeepers: Robby McCrorie (Rangers) and Jack Ruddy (Bournemouth)

Defenders: Luke Watt (Motherwell), Alex Iacovitti (Tottenham), Harry Souttar (Dundee Utd), Jamie Robson (Celtic) and Ryan Hoggan (Hibernian)

Midfielders: Billy Robertson (Aberdeen), Oliver Burke (Brentford), Ali Coote (East Fife), Daniel Armstrong (Wolves), Joe Thomson (Celtic), Greg Kiltie (Kilmarnock), Sean McKirdy (St. Johnstone), Frank Ross (Aberdeen) and Will Hoare (Crystal Palace)

Forwards: Craig Wighton (Dundee) and Scott Wright (Aberdeen)

Scotland manager Will Schoolar is keen to see Nottingham Forest's Oliver Burke (currently on loan at Brentford) and Ali Coote as he runs the rule over the future stars of Scottish football.

England win Euro 2016
A Ross Barkley double was enough to give England a 2-1 win over Spain in the final of Euro 2016. Barkley opened the scoring in the 20th minute, before Denis Suarez levelled after 72 minutes.
Barkley sent the England fans into raptures as he scored the winner on the 89th minute.

Scottish U19 crash out of European Championships
Scotland lost their opening game 2-0 to Spain, before overcoming the old enemy England 1-0 with Dundee's Craig Wighton scoring the only goal of the game. With the top two progressing, Scotland had to beat Holland in the final game to qualify but lost 1-0.

The performances at the tournament were very good, with Will Hoare, a midfielder in Crystal Palace's youth team, the best performing player. Oliver Burke failed to impress, although Ali Coote played well in all three games.

Schoolar names first Scottish squad
With Scotland set to face Andorra in a friendly this week, the Scottish FA have today announced the squad for the first game under the new regime. The same squad will be used for the qualification game in Slovenia. The following 23 players were selected.

Goalkeepers: Jordan Archer, Scott Bain, Robby McCrorie.

Defenders: Liam Cooper, Grant Hanley^, Alex Iacovitti, Liam Palmer, Callum Paterson, Andrew Robertson, Graeme Shinnie, Kieren Tierney.

Midfielders: Oliver Burke, Ryan Christie, Graham Dorrans, Ryan Fraser+, Jay Fulton, Ryan Gauld, Lewis Macleod, James McArthur, Matt Ritchie.

Forwards: Leigh Griffiths, Ross McCormack, Jordan Rhodes.

One of the features of the new Scottish FA plan is to restrict the amount of players in the squad over the age of 30, with Ross McCormack (30), Graham Dorrans (29) and James McArthur (28) the elder statesmen in the team.

Andrew Robertson is new Scotland Captain
At a news conference today, Scotland boss Will Schoolar announced he had decided to make Andrew Robertson captain, replacing Scott Brown, whilst Ross McCormack comes in for Darren Fletcher as vice-captain.

Schoolar's decision to replace Scott Brown as captain sends out a strong signal that things will be different under the new Scotland management.

Scotland fans were left questioning Schoolar's judgement after the surprising selection of Robertson as captain

Friendly: Scotland 5-0 Andorra
Scotland secured a routine win over Andorra at Pittodrie in front of a full house. With media and fans questioning the young side selected by Schoolar, the scoreline certainly backed the new hope for Scottish football.

Jordan Rhodes opened the scoring after just 2 minutes, before strike partner Leigh Griffiths doubled the score after 23. Oliver Burke, recently watched at the U19 Championships, made it three within the first half an hour, before Grant Hanley scored the fourth before half time.

A raft of changes at half time stifled the flow of the game, but Ryan Fraser completed the rout in the 82nd minute. Scotland had 22 shots to Andorra's five, and seven players saw their debut in this game.

Slovenia are Scotland's next opponent as they look to start their World Cup Qualification with a win.

3rd September 2016

World Cup Qualifiers (Group 6): Slovenia 1-2 Scotland
Scotland won their first competitive game under new management, with a 2-1 win over Slovenia. The goals both came from debutants with Oliver Burke (28) and Alex Iacovitti (33) gave Scotland a two goal cushion before half time. Valter Birsa scored for the hosts late on, but it was a perfect start for Schoolar's new look side.

Ryan Gauld picked up Man of the Match with both assists, and the future certainly looks very bright for Scottish football.
