Another awful month. While Catalin Florea was injured we simply couldn't find the net. The cup match against Unirea Alba Iulia marked his return, and that showed. He managed to score and get 1 assist.

http://i45.tinypic.com/vnm1dw.png

Our league position is terrible. Now that Florea has returned, I really think that we will climb up in the ranks.

CFR Cluj's boss was sacked so I declared interest in the job. Unfortunately, they couldn't afford my release fee so they chose Anyukov for the post.

October began with a dramatic win against Otelul.Catalin Florea was back!!! Unfortunately it took a single match for him getting injured and missing another 7 weeks. That win was followed by a straight run of defeats and if I don't manage to change the club atmosphere I fear my days are numbered.

It was a real surprise that Sunderland want me to occupy the head coach post. After 3 years in Romania I decided it was time for me to change the scenery so I immediately accepted their offer. What tempted me the most were the 20 mil wage budget I could use and the 7.33 mil transfer budget.

The first 2 players that I want to bring to Sunderland are Catalin Florea, because he's my lucky player and goalkeeper Alexandru Buzbuchi.

This season's goal: form a well-knit group of players with which I can promote to the top league next year.

After only 3 games and Sunderland it seems like it will be a great season. With several players being injured by the time I had arrived here, I can't really say that I have formed a starting 11. Even if we drew 2 games, the performance was fantastic and after a few tactical tweaks we won comfortably against Birmingham.

http://i48.tinypic.com/1178rao.png

With only 6 points behind the last play-off spot, I really think we can challenge a promotion this year. I got my eyes on a few players for the transfer period to strengthen the squad, but so far England has been a nice change of atmosphere.

December was a very, very busy month. With 7 matches, I am very pleased we managed to remain undefeated in the league. I am howevere disappointed by the 3-0 loss against West Brom, but I had to rest a couple of players.

On the bright side, we manage to score a lot of goals, so I don't think there will be any changes in the attack. The defence need work, because we concede in almost every match, and I don't agree with the "one goal more than the opponent" mentality.

http://i46.tinypic.com/110ku14.png

We sit on the last play-off spot with 18 matches remaining. Anything can happen and I believe that we can climb a couple more spots before the season ends.

Thanks! The main thing I need to resolve is the fact that no matter what pep talk I give, half of the boys don't listen or become complacent.

January was a great month for us, losing only 1 game against 2nd spot Derby. We got kicked out of the FA Cup, but all I can think of is promotion. Steven Fletcher has put on some great performances and is leading the attack.

http://i47.tinypic.com/1zztgqv.png

We're on our way to promotion and if we can keep this form up no one can stop us.

http://i45.tinypic.com/2hrk7px.png

It's been a busy transfer period, bringing in no less than 8 players and letting 2 go: Steven Zuber went to Kuban for 6mil and Jonathan Botinelli to Sheff Wed for 750k.

The team's performance helped me win the Manager of the Month award.

Always feel its a bit of a risk bringing in so many new faces in the winter but an unbeaten month to follow is cracking! Could make a push for that top spot!

I know I risked a little. But my defense was apalling and that was the first issue I had to adress. When I had the opportunity to sign Kevin-Prince Boateng I immediately took it, as he is one of the most experienced players in my team. Then I had to replace Zuber on my left wing. I just hope that the players keep up their form until the end of the season.

With only 5 games remaining, we're on our way to winning promotion. If we don't fail in any game, I truly believe we can promote without having to go through a play-off.

Awful, awful month. The players' performance drop drastically and we barely managed to win a single game. Somehow though we qualified for play-off. We were really lucky to reach this stage, but we need to step up our performances in order to win promotion to the Premiership.

Semi-final with Stoke. 1-1 at home. I think the players got motivated, being so close to promotion. They had a storming match and if it wasn't for their keeper we would have won 2 - 3 goals up.

PROMOTION!!! After an awful 5 - 6 matches, the boys played admirably in the play-offs, managing to overcome Stoke in the semi-finals, then make a perfect game to beat Blackburn in the Final. I think with 1 or 2 signings we could hold on to our spot in the Premiership, even make a surprising season.

I will have to make a couple of signings because Leon Britton retires at the end of this year and Michael Carrick is 35 years old. I believe this will be his final season. I really need a good defensive midfielder to replace him. And, of course, I will bring young talents, as that is my signature. I enjoy finding 18 - 19 years old players and building them up into wonderkids.

Although the transfer period is halfway through, I already finished bringing in new players. Most of them are youngsters and will spend a 1 or 2 years on loan to gain experience, but I found a couple of players who will have a shot at first team soccer right away.

Stephane Sessegnon left on a free transfer as he was dissapointed by the first team opportunities I gave him. Lewis Milne left for 2 mil to Southampton. Anthony Wordsworth left on a free, after I secured the loan of Vincenzo Meneghello, I simply didn't see how he could break into the first team.

Danny Potts returned to West Ham after his loan finished and Chancel Mbemba Mangulu to Anderlecht.

Even if I brought in a lot of players, 4 of them will go on loan to gain first team experience. Ales Mrazek is the pick of the lot, as I hope he will take Steven Fletcher's striker post and will become one of the club's top performer's. Tomasz Kalacs is another great addition, even if he's a loanee, but maybe I will snatch him on a free during the winter transfer period. Vincenzo Meneghello is another talented young player. I couldn't help myself but to sign Gary Cahill, as I thought that his experience playing for Chelsea will secure the defence. I am still not happy that we concede every game.

Pre-season was rather good. I tested a couple of tactics with which we are going to face the big teams from the Premier Division. One thing keeps bothering me. Even against the smaller teams we conceded. I dread the moment when we will face teams like Man Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal. I just hope that the defense steps up its game in important matches, just like it did in the play-offs.

A great season start. Although we had 2 easy matches, I am happy we didn't lost. Ales Mrazek is slowly becoming a great player, managing to score 1 in each game. The match in the Capital One Cup against Preston was shaping up to be a disaster after falling behind after just 26 seconds. The squad had only young players, and all it took was Boateng to enter the frame and deciding the match in extra time.

Another good month. Beside the losses against Tottenham and Man Utd, the team played great. We managed to steal Liverpool a draw after keeper Reina made a grave mistake. We also managed to get 2 clean sheets in a row, but the game against Man Utd blew that up pretty well.

http://i48.tinypic.com/zlikz.png

Overall, I am happy with the team's performance, as we keep winning against the smaller teams, and even surprise the bigger ones. The performance in the Capital One Cup is also a plus, next round we will face npower League 1 side MK Dons.

We were pretty lucky against Liverpool. United destroyed us. Shaqiri couldn't be handled. My keeper saw most of the ball from my entire team. But that's football. Didn't really expect to have any chance in that game.
