As my save with FC United suddenly stopped existing (5 seasons gone with the wind) I felt so frustrated that I didn`t play the game for a longggg while. Now I believe that I`m prepared for this adventure, at least until my wounds heal up so I can make a new start with FC United.
I`ve started as a manager of Saint Etienne, and will try to restore their 1970`s moments, time when they were a dominating force in France football. I know it will be hard, considering the strength(read:money) of PSG, and likes of Monaco, Marseille, and bastards from lyon (my fierce rivals).
Squad that welcomed me looks like this
Considering the small maneuverability that I have cause of the finances, going to stack up my money this season.
My tactic will definitely use wingbacks in the team, and try to play offensively right from the start, so I`ll play a 5-2-3 tactic, and make amends in all teams, and adopt players, especially get rid od AM(rlc) that I won`t be using, and if possible make a couple of decent signings.
The board is reasonable enough with these expectations

Preseason was satisfying, mainly about adopting players, getting them fit and familiar with new tactic. Now competitive football starts against Beroe , Bulgarian side in Euro cup qual. 3rd round.
Transfer market activity was about patching up the team, and cleaning up. Probably that will be all for this transfer period, but there is a month until the market is closed. Rest of the money will be invested into staff changes.
My main investment, after beating PSG, Valencia and Milan for him, is 18 years old striker from Argentina, Lautaro Martinez, and I hope that his 19 determination can lead me to success.
Bookmakers made a prediction of finishing sixth. I can accept that for first season, and that place takes me to Euro cup qualifying round 3. If I dont`t finish in top 6, I risk a big stepback into this career. I need european matches on Stade Geoffroy-Guichard!

Mostly I bought some first team rotation players because injuries got me good, and a couple of 15year old teenagers
Two 16 year olds from the U18 team have already been given first team expirience, and will be used as much as possible through the season.
It`s been a rough August, after beeing lucky with Europa League qualifications draw (Beroe and Admira Wacker), I secured a place in group stage. But performance in Ligue 1 after magnificent first round win at Bordeaux 5-1, showed me that everything is not going to be so simple, two home defeats from teams which I should be winning, Montpellier and Toulouse. And PSG is next
Europa League draw got me into a solid group where I expect easy qualification and battle with Zenit for first place.

After some experiments, ups and downs, I`ve decided for this team to be my starting lineup
It payed out, bagging couple of good wins, and a unexpected draw against Bastia.
Europa League is going as planned, no problems there.
October started with the big derby against lyon away, where I dropped the lead in 87th minute, but not losing an away derby is pretty much good.
Wins against Zenit and Monaco really boosted my morale.
Again, a cuople of good performances and wins showed me that this team has potential. 8th place at the end of the month was satisfying, considering Toulouse
Good performances haven`t gone unnoticed, and my forward Lautaro Martinez got a Player of the month award
Finally, I completed all the staff changes in club, having new 37 staff members in, and 9 out of the club.

Another month of solid performances, having secured Europa league next round, only cold home shower against Nice showed me that there`s still ups and downs present.
Slowly moving up the table, started raising my ambitions as I see Toulouse and Rennes in top 4.
Europa league was easier than I expected, after conceding only one goal in grup. Thought Zenit would be a danger, but...
First knockout round got me against Dinamo Zagreb, that should be an interesting encounter.
Board decided to award me by raising my transfer funds for the upcoming transfer window.
I`m very impressed how the team is performing right now, again moving up the table at the end of the month, plus I payed back Nice with a 3:0 in Coupe de la ligue,

African Cup of Nations got couple of my players called up, and plus injuries, I had to get some replacement players. Especially I`ll be missing Oussama Tannane, probably the best player of this half season.
Wing back Jesus Gamez and centre back Rob Holding came on a loan until end of the season, and forward Suk Hyun-Jun came from Porto for 1 mil euro.
Only player that left the club was a very promissing goalkeeper Anthony Maisonnial, but I won`t be needing goalies for some time.
Month without a defeat, including very good performances in French cup and Coupe de la ligue, where we reached final, and have the opportunity for the first trophy under my management.
The guy who took a chance and jumped into the first team from reserve squad, used it very good, bagging a Player of the month award, 18 year old Benjamin Aulagnier, another product of very good youth setup.
At the end of the month a very good second place, currently entering Champions league, trailing PSG five points, who knows what the future brings..

Again I was unable to beat lyon, but other matches in Ligue 1 I have no problems, it looks easier to win away games than home games. I had no problem with Dinamo in Europa, looking forward to next matches.
Never been closer to PSG, if I manage to get good results in march, I could make a magnificent result.
Europa league draw got me against Bayer Leverkusen, I consider myself a slight favourite.
Match with Leverkusen occupied my whole month, resting and preparing players for that match mixed with catcing up PSG in league almost got me out of Europa league, because I played with reserve squad the second game, and substitutes managed to rescue me. Matches against Bastia and Dijon were collateral victims of Leverkusen.
Still entering Champions league, as long as I continue with this tempo. Starting to feel that catching up with PSG will be impossible.
Europa league next opponent West Ham, again a slight favourite, especially first game is away.

It wasn`t aprils fools day, I really managed to take my first trophy, Coupe de la Ligue, againt PSG.
But couldn`t win against PSG twice
Great month for me, as I take a trophy, advance to Europa league semi finals, and continue good form in Ligue 1.
Big factor in good results was my forward Robert Beric, who won Player of the month award.
Four matches to go, everything is still opened, pleased having Champions league position for next season.
Europa league will be a big fight for final, playing against Inter

Well, what can I say, this was a disappointing month, my team was nowhere.
At the end I finished second in Ligue 1, that`s great for first season, PSG was not so good, but they didn`t spend money on transfers, so next season will be record transfers for them.
Solid performance in Europa league final. but Man Utd was lucky enough to take the trophy home. Overall, I`m satisfied with my performance in Europe.
Season review
So, that was my first season with AS Saint-Étienne, hoping next season will be also good as this one.
