The FM17 Adboard Patch - V1.2.1 Out Now (First 10 EPL Clubs)

I'm guessing some of the ads in this folder are no longer used, once I release the Scottish ads (hopefully tomorrow) I'll start a major rework of the English ads, I'm expecting this to take at least 2 months so I might do a release every 5 clubs or something along those lines.

Yeah. I looked through the xml file for clubs, and not all the PL ads are in use. I might try experiment with that. I'm also wondering why all the video ads aren't in use at a CL match

Installation instructions

1. Extract the xml, graphics and steam folder to your desktop


2. Place the graphics folder into the following directory;
My documents/sports interactive/football manager 2017
You may be asked if you want to replace existing files and folders, agreeing to this will just update previous adboards and will not result in the loss of any previous graphics.


3. Open up the xml folder on your desktop


4. You will notice three folders one called ‘Club Adboards’, one called ‘Non Club Adboards’ and the other ‘Non LCD Adboards’ cut and paste these of these folders to the following directory
My documents/sports interactive/football manager 2017/ads


5. Choose your prefered xml file and copy and paste this file over the existing fm.xml file in the football manager 2017/ads directory.


6. Place the steam folder into the following directory;

C:\Program Files (x86)

You may be asked if you want to replace existing files and folders, agreeing to this will just update previous adboards and will not result in the loss of any previous graphics.


7. Load up FM17 and in the preferences
uncheck use skin cache
uncheck clicking on ad board takes you to owners website
check reload skin on confirm.
Go to the 'general' tab and set size of text & images to 100%
(if not already)

This add-on pack will only work with the FM16 adboard patch installed, if you do not have it download it first from Here

Hi again, Sorry for the inconvinience, but it worked and suddently it didn't. I have the ads folder and the graphics folder installed in same place, as you can see in this picture


What am I doing wrong?

Which ads folder do you have in the picture, the xml files or the static adboards?

The xml ads folder should be in (my documents/sports interactive/football manager 2017/ads) and the graphics ads foolder should be (my documents/sports interactive/football manager 2017/graphics/pictures/ads)

Still having problems, and its annoying me

Neither place the ads folder (containing the static ads) in the graphics folder, 1st pic you have graphics/graphics/pictures/ads it should be graphics/pictures/ads

Guess what, that didn't work either. Do I have to place a xml file in the static graphics folder?

Hi again.

Now I've placed the afs the right place (they're showing), but when I edit the XML file, it doesn't apply in the game. It also seems like that I've to restart the game to apply the club ads, if I've just played a CL match.

The xml file is loaded upon FM booting, if you want to switch between xml files or make changes to a xml file then you need to restart FM

Then why not make a all-in-one xml file, so you don't have to restart every time you switch?

I couldn't find the Euro ones... Do you maybe plan on doing it or anything related to international qualifiers and competitions? We lack a lot in these

Thanks Persee I'll get them added to the next update, to be honest I've no plans to directly work on any international ads any time soon as once I've done the English ads I'll look at the other big European Leagues such as France, Germany, Italy and Spain, however from these nations I'll probably make ads that are also used in International competitions and they'll be added that way.

I added a txt-file with the clubs IDs aswell

But you should check the club/no club files to be sure that everything works out.
I had problem with a few clubs. F.ex. Strømsgodset
