Brian McDermott has left Reading FC after being told he will not be required by the new owners. This came to shock the players and staff after being told of McDermott's departure.
A new manager has been appointed in his place with no experience in management and has only just got his coaching badges. Youngster Martyn Brown has been selected to manage in the best league in the world in his first managerial stint.
[Martyn] Brown had this to say "I am humbled to be given this job at Reading FC. I know I will feel the pressure as this is my first managerial position and hope to win over the fans, players, staff and all others out there.

Great month, 2 games and 2 wins. Could this be the start of a great season for us here at Reading. With the transfer window closed we got 2 brazilian's joining the club with a few out goings as well. Ademilson and Wellington Nem joining the club for £8,750,000.
Reading 2 - 0 West Brom
Le Fondre ('2), Robson-Kanu ('16)
Easy win at home, first game, first win. Adam Le Fondre and Hal Robson-Kanu with the goals to get us off the mark.
Sunderland 1 - 4 Reading
