I'm usually not doing requests, but you asked just when I was in middle of this, so you're in luck. Here they are:

Just out of curiosity, why do we use 220x220? They look much better at 440x440

I second your proposal. Any chance to see your stunning kits at 440x440 resolution, dear @bolid74?

I did few for testing purposes, like this Barnet:
It's actually 412x412 but it's still nice and sharp in game. I'd love to make them all in this format, but if there's particular reason for insisting on 220x220 (like compatibility with older FMs, or whatever), I'll simply follow same format as other kit makers.

Kits in game are all scaled to same size, however high-res kits are obviously sharper with finer details visible. Especially if kit has some tiny features like small writtings, thin lines, fine patterns and stuff like that.
It's not a big deal for most people I guess
dlodlodlo
How can high-res kits be sharper than standard ones? You have exactly the same number of pixels for both kits. When high-res kit downscales several pixels fuse which gives us one pixel. In the result we have almost (in some cases some pixels might have different shades, I guess) the same kits

Oh, I see. Ok, than I admit you probably were right. I thought it was 220x220 or even smaller.

True I would prefer 440x440 kits to see much better as in the picture

IMHO it's time to step forward in terms of kits quality for SS style.

Wimbledon Puma third, Bury, new Oxford, Forest and Wolves away, Carlisle and Derby County.

just do it please.

Absolutely right. Especially in some kits, it is even difficult to tell what brand they are. In fact, who does not like the bigger size, can always resize them to save space on the disk.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we should go 440x440 right away. I'm now 70-80% done with English leagues and I'm certainly not going back and remaking everything in high res. But perhaps we should consider high-res for season 18-19? Difference in file size is 3x, which means pack is not 2mb but 6mb. It's still a small file.
Here are these two kits from examples above, Plymouth home and Wolves away. 220x220 are on page 133:
