TROPHY CABINET

Liverpool is one of the most decorated clubs that has existed in the footballing world, with 5 Champions League and 18 Premier League cups being the most notables one. Their golden years started with the appointment of Shankly during the 1959-1960 season. The club was in the Second Division ever since their relegation from the 1953-1954. They went on a rebuilding process and in the end got promoted during the 1962-1963 season with an unbeaten record at home ground. What followed was the golden era of Liverpool. First Division titles on 1966, 1973, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1980 complimented by the 1977, 1978 1981 Champions League win and 1977 European Cup. However, in present times, Liverpool's closest memory of a golden season was the 2005 Champions League win against AC Milan with a tremendous comeback and a horrific memory was the year when they almost won the League

STADIUM

https://d3j2s6hdd6a7rg.cloudfront.net/v2/uploads/media/default/0001/29/thumb_28694_default_news_size_5.jpeg

Anfield is the stadium Liverpool plays in during their home games with a capacity of 54,074, the sixth largest football stadium in England. It has been the home for the Kops ever since 1892 which was the year when they were formed. Entering the stadium, you'll see 4 stands: Spion Kop, Main Stand, The Centenary Stand (which is soon to be renamed to the Kenny Dalglish Stand) and Anfield Road. Outside the stadium, you'll find two gates: The Shankly Gate and the Paisley Gate and a statue of Bill Shankly.

KEY PLAYER

They key player of this series will be Philippe Coutinho. I think it's undoubted that Coutinho is the star player of the team right now and if you don't believe me, check the current news on how Barcelona is chasing for him and is even sending a representative to convince him even further. He will probably the bridge between our attack and midfield, maestro-ing the whole entire play.

SQUAD REVIEW

https://i.gyazo.com/37dcc2488339e2e3a46d429efd107950.jpg

This is the look of the squad at the start of the season. We have a a lot of attacking prowess upfront with fantastic plays on the wings, the midfield and at the striker position. However, I'm looking to improving depth for the defensive position, especially the full backs. I'm also planning to bring in a better center back as I'm not content with the current players at our disposal. Our goalkeeping sitaution isn't also helping us that much but I guess it can do for now with Mignolet and Karius.

With the players at my disposal, I've decided that a 4-2-3-1 would be the most suitable formation as our main formation.

If all our players are healthy, this would be our strongest first XI in my opinion.

With our attack, Sturridge will be the spearhead of our goals doing a poacher role. He will be doing nothing but score and score and score. Hopefully he stays healthy too. Liverpool fans will know the pain

In the attacking side of midfield, we have Coutinho on the left, Firmino behind Sturridge while Mane is running down the right flank

In the midfield, we have the ever reliable captain when he's healthy Jordan Henderson and Emre Can who's a formidable midfielder too

On the fullbacks, we have Moreno and Clyne, both pacey although Moreno would be on thin ice considering how his marking stats isn't the best but we'll see how it goes

Lastly, the triangle at back being Lovren, Matip and Mignolet. I believe that in game stats wise, Mignolet is the better keep but Karius isn't that far off either

TRANSFER WINDOW

https://i.gyazo.com/fb49d73452bfc166b1f0bbece69b3194.png

With the transfer window closing, I am proud to say that I was able to cover some of the spots that we didn't had great backups in.

Our first signing was Charlie Taylor from Leeds United who's a pacey decent left full back who could cover for Moreno.

Our second signing was Rafael Ramos from Orlando City, another decent right back who could cover for Clyne when there's cup games.

Our third signing is Francesco Acerbi from Sassuolo, who's a strong and reliable center back who is a better cover than Klavan and could partner with him if needed for cup games.

Our last signing was Wilfred Zaha from Crystal Palace, I guess this guy does not need introduction as a pacey right winger who just blast past his defenders

We've loaned out a lot of our youths and only made on outwards transfer which was Adam Bogdan who's basically dead weight right now so we let him go for whatever value they could offer

JULY

https://i.gyazo.com/78e389ba26bb4844b59bc2f2efe9613a.png

Our pre-season went very very well if you ask me. The most notable win would be our 6-1 win against Real Madrid when they played their best team without Ronaldo and Bale

With no surprise, all our attacking players had a goal contribution for the whole entire friendly period. We were relatively solid in defense despite both Mignolet and Karius being injured at the start of the friendly season.

We scored a total of 21 goals in 8 games while only conceding 7 goals.

AUGUST

https://i.gyazo.com/ad510c69e59578bfae5d96a430f16257.png

We started off the Premiere league with a great 3-1 game against West Brom with Lovren, Mane and Firmino scoring the 3 goals. Mane being the Player of the Match of the game

We then got our first lost of the season against Arsenal who dominated us big time with 17 shots to 6 shots and we were lucky to go out with a 2-1 lost to be honest.

We then won our first game in the EFL Cup and won our third game of the Premier League against West Ham with Sturridge and Henderson scoring once, Firmino and Lallana scoring twice during both games. Clyne winning both Player of the Match for both games

https://i.gyazo.com/df26cca799410eb65ec19e553545fd50.png

At the end of August, we currently stand at 7th place with 6 points and with the way team has played, I believe that both Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne are both Player of the Months for the month

We had a mediocre December month. I wouldn't say it's a good neither was it bad.

JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW

https://i.gyazo.com/ffab38610cc150a02b41fe6ab17d0e75.png

With the transfer window, we had an offer for Lovren that I couldn't reject, and hence he was shipped off to China. I also sold Klavan because I couldn't offer him first team time. I made a huge mistake though for selling either of them as I didn't have enough money to bring in a player of the same calibre, I tried for 4 players but it ended unsuccessful so let's just hope Acerbi and Matip stays healthy until the end of the season.

FEBRUARY

3 draws, 3 wins, one of them being a cup final

Milner, Zaha, Mane Matip Henderson and Sturridge scoring once while Firmino scores 3 in the month

Milner, Clyne, Matip and Moreno won Player of the Matches in the month

At the end of February, we are still in fourth place 12 points away from the top

TRANSFER WINDOW

https://i.gyazo.com/4eda28f1d69ce7e76d3d804fbbd89097.jpg

The transfer window was an eventful

Remember when I said Coutinho was our best player? Well this transfer window he was desperate for a move after PSG throwing a cash load of contract at him. I couldn't match it because, well it's PSG. They're billions ahead of us and I didn't want to keep unhappy players. Hence I had to make a brave decision to let him go but squeeze out any money I could get out of him.

With the money at the start of the season, and the money I grabbed from the sale of Coutinho, I decided to buff up our defense. With Virgil Van Dijk and Donnarumma, I believe that our dfense will be a bit more solid.

With a hole in the left midfield of the team, I decided to go out for Bruma, a super pacey player who can beat his opponents with his eye catching dribbling skill set. William and Ziyech were brought in to cover the depth in the left midfield and right back

Salvareschi, Cook and Batalla were players our scout found who were high potential players, hence they were brought in too.

With Donnarumma's arrival, I had to offload either Mignolet / Karius. Since Karius was pretty much our bench player for the whole season, I decided to let Mignolet go.

I was not keen on the idea of Sakho filling up the central defender spot when we already have Acerbi and Leiva who could fulfill that spot

Charlie Taylor didn't contribute much last season hence I had to let him go, Andre Wisdom didn't look like he'll be much of a player hence I accepted a bid for him too.

JULY

https://i.gyazo.com/b2016983e76e80c31f6ba353a17c3cc2.png

Friendlies went very well, with an outstanding 6 out of 6 friendlies won. Having a total of 18 goals and only conceding 4 times

We ended off the month with our third trophy win ever since I took ever with the Community Shield after a 2-0 win against Chelsea

AUGUST

https://i.gyazo.com/5f0ed9e168862df62a1f57c93b846da2.png

We started off the premier league with a horrendous game, a 0-2 lost against Arsenal who dominated the game. However, we picked up the pace with a 3 game winning streak including in the Champion's League Best Placed Playoff before losing a 1-2 game against Athletico (but winning on aggregate) before kicking Manchester United to the curb with a 4-1 win.

https://i.gyazo.com/0d1649c5569621ec2ba35951fd1b393b.png https://i.gyazo.com/d52bf856627ab06382c48839e5bda5cf.png

With this, we ended up in 3rd place in the Premier League and in the Champions League, we are in a group against tough opponents like PSG, Napoli and Celtic in Group D. Also known as the group of Death.
