Everton will play Fulham in the Carling Cup final after cruising into the final with a dominant display, beating Arsenal 4-0 at Goodison Park, the visitors having Chuks Aneke sent off late on.
Final Score: Everton 4-0 Arsenal.

Moyes delighted with semi final win

Everton manager David Moyes has hailed his current team as one of his best, after watching his team thrash Arsenal 4-0 at Goodison Park to reach the Capital One Cup final.
Speaking live on Sky Sports news, Moyes had this to say: "What an absolutely fantastic result. To play Arsenal and beat them 4-0 is quite simply incredible. This is by far the best Everton side I have ever had and it's really pleasing to see us doing well in both league and cup. That's probably one of the best performances I've seen as Everton manager and I can't wait to play Fulham in the final at Wembley."
"I think the basis of our success this season has been the form of all of our striking options. In the past we have never really had a goalscorer and have struggled for goals but this season we have three of them. Jelavic scored quite a few before his injury but recently he has struggled for goals. We know that Nikica will start scoring again soon but in the mean time, Apostolos Vellios has been banging them in which is great to see. We've also got Charlie Austin who has been consistently scoring all season so with those three, we are always going to have goals in the team."

Rotherham fail in upset chase

League Two Rotherham failed in their chase of a FA Cup upset as a first Everton goal from Aaron Cresswell and a goal from Apostolos Vellios condemned them to a 2-0 defeat at the New York Stadium.

Bitter rivals Liverpool and Manchester United will lock horns at Anfield in the FA Cup 5th round after been drawn together in the draw which was conducted at Wembley earlier this afternoon.
The two clubs have only met once this season with Liverpool humiliating their Manchester rivals by running out winners by 5 goals to one at Anfield. Liverpool's Merseyside rivals Everton will host Championship side Bristol City, who will be looking to cause an upset. It was Everton that knocked the Bristol side out of the Capital One Cup earlier this season. In an all Championship tie, Brighton travel to Derby.
Elsewhere, there is a London derby in the offering as Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas faces his old club as Roberto Di Matteo's Chelsea visit White Hart Lane. Also going up against his old club will be Newcastle manager Alan Pardew as he takes his side to the Valley to face Charlton. The other three toes see Premier League meet Championship as Middlesbrough host West Ham, Huddersfield travel to Aston Villa and Blackburn host Stoke.

A goal from Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic was the difference for Everton at the Madjeski Stadium as Everton cemented their place at the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win.

Eboue in deadline day deal

Former Arsenal right back Emmanuel Eboue has been part of a deadline day move after joining Premier League leaders Everton for a fee of 8 million pounds from Galatasaray.
Reports suggest that the Ivorian player has signed a four and a half year contract earning him an estimated fifty thousand pounds a week. Eboue has been at Turkish giants Galatasaray for a year and a half after moving in the summer of 2011. During his time in Turkey, he played forty-six games and scored four goals.
Before moving to Turkey, Eboue was an ever present for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, spending seven years in London. During his time there, he scored ten goals in two hundred and fourteen games. Eboue was regarded as a cult figure at the Emirates with Arsenal fans often singing "You only came to see Eboue" at opposition fans. Everton fans will be hoping that Eboue will be able to replicate the form of his Arsenal days.

Osman in Fulham loan move

Everton midfielder Leon Osman has made a deadline day switch, as he joins Fulham on loan for the rest of the season, the London club paying Everton a loan fee of thirty-five thousand pounds a month.
The thirty-one year old Englishman has found his appearances limited for Everton this season following the signing of Anderson from Manchester United and has decided that a loan move would be best suited for him. Osman has only played a total of eleven games at Everton and will be looking to play regular first team football at the London club.
Also on his way out of Everton on loan is twenty-one year old midfielder Junior who has joined Barnsley for a loan fee of six thousand pound a month. Junior, who was signed on a free by Everton in 2011, has yet to make a first team appearance for David Moyes' side and is, according to reports, itching to play some first team football. Moyes has allowed the midfielder to move on loan top Barnsley to allow him to continue his development.

Coleman makes Sunderland switch

Irish defender Seamus Coleman is now a Sunderland player after joining the Black Cats from Everton for a fee of 1.5 million pounds on what is believed to be a 4 and a half year deal.
Coleman's move comes as no surprise to many in the footballing world following Everton's signing of former Arsenal right back Emmanuel Eboue earlier today. Already being behind Phil Neville and Christophe Jallet in the pecking order at right back means that Coleman's playing time at the blue half of Merseyside would have been extremely restricted. Coleman has only made 5 appearances for Everton this season after making 18 in the 2011-12 season.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Coleman cited the signing of Emmanuel Eboue as his reason for leaving Goodison Park: "I think the reason why I have joined Sunderland is reasonably clear. With the signing of Eboue, there was absolutely no chance of me getting any first team football. At my age I need to be playing first team football, especially if I want to keep my place in the Republic of Ireland team, so the decision to move to Sunderland was a no brainer."

Double award win for Everton

Everton have picked up two awards in the January monthly Premier League awards as David Moyes retains the Manager of the Month award and Kevin Mirallas wins the Goal of the Month award.
Moyes retains the manager of the month award after seeing Everton through a January which saw the blue half of Merseyside win four and draw one of their five Premier League games. The team also won two FA Cup ties and knocked Arsenal out of the Capital One cup over two legs. The Premier League month started with a 3-2 win over Norwich at Goodison on the 2nd before winning again at Goodison on the 12th with a 2-0 win over victory. The first away game saw a 1-1 draw with Fulham with the next game being a 2-0 win over West Brom. The final Premier League game of the month was a 1-0 over Reading.
The second award sees Kevin Mirallas notch up the Premier League Goal of the Month award for his beautiful solo effort against Wigan in the 2-0 victory at Goodison Park. Picking the ball up from Seamus Coleman, the Belgian ran and ran before burying a shot into the top left hand corner to send the Everton home fans wild. The Belgian beat off competition from Eden Hazard and Sergio Aguero who were second and third respectively.

Late Santon goal gives Newcastle a point

A rare goal from Everton centre back John Heitinga was not enough for the Merseysiders as a late Davide Santon goal gave Newcastle a share of the points at St. James' Park.

All ties in the FA Cup 6th round will be Championship vs Premier League after the draw that was made live at Wembley earlier this afternoon by former England midfielders John Barnes and Paul Ince.
Blackburn, who beat Premier League opposition in the form of Stoke City in the last round have another home tie as they entertain Tottenham, who beat Chelsea at White Hart Lane in the last round. Premier League leaders face their second tie against Championship opposition in successive rounds as their reward for beating Bristol City is a trip to Huddersfield who shocked Aston Villa at Villa Park in the last round.
Everton's bitter rivals Liverpool, who beat Man United 1-0 in the last round, also face an away tie as they travel to the Valley to play Charlton who thrashed Newcastle 4-1 in the last round, getting one over on former manager Alan Pardew in the process. The final tie sees West Ham, who beat Middlesbrough in the last round, entertain Brighton who beat Derby at Pride Park in the 5th round.

With the season in full swing and the Capital One Cup final just 4 days away, evertonfc.com caught up with manager David Moyes to get his thoughts on the season so far.
Hello David, First of all let me say thank you for agreeing to do this interview for us. How does it feel to be up the top of the Premier League?.
It's great, I'm loving every minute of it. When I said at the start of the season I wanted 4th, I never thought we'd be in this position. Hopefully we can keep up our good form and still be in the top 4 at the end of the season.
How do you feel your new signings are getting on at the club?
I won't comment on Emmanuel as it's still early days but the rest of them have been superb. Nemmy (Wellington Nem) has come in and been a revelation on the left hand side. He is probably one of my best signings ever to be honest. Charlie Austin is also starting to find his way now. Clarky (Ciaran Clark) and Craig (Craig Dawson) have come in and done well. They know they aren't going to always be starting with Johnny Heitinga and Phil Jagielka around but they've shown they are ones for the future. Craig Gordon, Aaron Cresswell and Christophe Jallet have been great back ups for us so far too.
At the moment the side sit at the top of the Premier League, do you actually think they can mount a title challenge this season?
It's not a case of questioning if they can, it's a case of questioning why they can't. We have a good squad who a playing really good football and winning games. If we keep winning games from now until the end of the season we should be right up there.
The Capital One Cup final is just 4 days away, what are your hopes for the cups?
I want to win both. I know a lot of managers say how the Capital One Cup doesn't matter and the FA Cup is more important, but to me both cups are just as important as each other and I will be setting the guys up in an attempt to win both. Whats the point in entering if you're not going to try and win it?

Jelavic final blow

Everton have been dealt a serious blow ahead of this Sunday's Capital One Cup final against Fulham with star striker Nikica Jelavic being ruled out for two weeks with a virus.
The loss of the striker comes as a huge blow for the Merseysiders with Jelavic, who has scored 14 times this season, likely to start alongside Charlie Austin at Wembley. Jelavic played with the virus in the FA Cup game against Bristol City on Saturday but was forced off at half time after complaining of a headache and blurred vision. The news of Jelavic's demise is likely to bring a smile to the face of Greek striker Apostolos Vellios who is favorite to replace the Croatian.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Everton manager David Moyes spoke of his disappointment but insisted that the team would put the blow behind them: "Sure we've lost Nikica Jelavic for the final and I'm disappointed but the fact is that the team doesn't revolve around him. We have ten other lads who are fighting fit and raring to go, not to mention the squad guys itching for a taste of Wembley glory. I've now got a decision to make that I didn't want but we will put the blow behind us and play like we can."

Neville rallies the troops

Everton skipper Phil Neville has sent out a battle cry to his fellow Everton players ahead of tomorrow's Capital One Cup final against Fulham, urging them to play like they can and not get nervous.
In an interview with Evertonfc.com earlier, Neville said: "We've got to take the game to Fulham. There is no point sitting back and letting them attack us. Our success this season has been based around how well the guys up front have been doing and we need to continue that. It's obviously going to be tough after losing Jelavic but we have other strikers that can come in and find the net like Apostolos Vellios, who has been scoring for fun lately."
"It's important that we don't get nervous on the day. In the 2009 FA Cup final against Chelsea, we were nervous after we went 1-0 up and it cost us. We have to make sure that doesn't happen again. Once we get that lead, which I'm confident that we will, we need to keep pushing for a second and take the game away from Fulham and not let them into our half like we did with Chelsea. I have faith in the lads and I know we can do it."
