[FM18] Bring Back The Glory - Racing Santander

Welcome to my first career in FM18. Before I'll start my hexagon save (when data updates are available) I thought I'll give a try and take control of Racing Santander, club that has definitely seen better days.



I've loaded some other nations just to sim leagues

Brief history of the club. Unfortunatelly the times when players like Ezequiel Garay, Luis Garcia, Gio Dos Santos, Mauricio Pinilla,... played for the club are long gone and we are in the middle of the dark times for the club.


The board wants me to develop my own players using my youth system and frankly it's not bad (for the league). Players like Sergio Canales emerged from youth ranks of the club but there haven't been any real talent since.

Santander is a coastal city located on the shore of Bay of Biscay in the northern Spain in the region of Cantabria.


El Sardinero is the home ground for the club. Built in 1988, it holds 22.222 people. Average attendance in 2016/2017 season was 6.259 which comes at around 28%. Long way to go until we have full stadium again

Please pay no attention to the name of the cup

I've arranged the cup games mostly to garner some extra income because our financial status is not the best. I've also persuaded the board to find us new Senior Affiliate to enable us to get some players on loan because our wage budget is in red.


Average age of the squad is 25 but all the younger players are not really good

I'll definitely need to get some new signings because we do not have depth in defence. The main players are all pretty old so I'll need to get some younger ones in for cover. Because of our financial situation I need to sell some of the older players that were not in my first plans as they are the ones with the highest paychecks.

Thanks. Not really keen on doing save with one of the big clubs right now but on the other hand I don't want to start my unemployed save without claasen's league updates

Mixed results

Well, preseason ended with mixed feelings about the team. I haven't bought anyone nor did I sell anyone so the team remained the same. Hope for at least some aditions to the team but financial restrictions aren't leaving us with much room to maneuver.
