So in line with the re-ignition of interest from F.C. Copenhagen and a couple of other nations I have decided to produce a series of leagues with the Atlantic League blueprint in mind.
The sole purpose of this is to increase the available finances and prestige of the clubs in these regions - with the aim hopefully to have some interesting European Football Competitions with clubs who nationally dominate but don't IRL have the money to compete with top 6 league clubs but now will with increased TV revenue.
The first will be the Atlantic League itself. Followed by Southern (Mediterranean or Ionian League - comment below), Eastern, Central.
Clubs will be promoted and relegated to their relevant national league. Clubs will be moved to a single nation to compete in the league but their based nation will remain the same meaning regens, European qualification etc will remain in the existing nation just the "nation" will change.
MORE INFORMATION
***What nations will be included?***
Currently only plan to take nations in the top 40 rankings in the European Coefficients.
- Atlantic (9): Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Netherlands, Iceland
- Southern (8): Greece, Croatia, Bosnia, Israel, Cyprus, Turkey, Macedonia, Albania
- Eastern (8): Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Romania, Bulgaria
- Central (9): Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia
***Format***
Tier, Title, (Teams, Promotions/Relegations):
- Tier 1: Atlantic League (16, 0/3)
- Tier 2: National League (Fluid*, 1,3)
- Tier 3: National Second League (16, 3/0)
* Note: In Tier 1 and Tier 2 there will be half the clubs from each nation, tier 3 will have the other half. Eg.: Netherlands have 32 teams in the database, There are 7 dutch teams in the Atlantic League, 9 in the Eredivisie. Therefore the number of teams in the national first league is 50% of total from that nation minus the no. teams in tier 1 from that nation. Tier 3 will have the other half.
Will take top 32 clubs from each nation unless otherwise obvious split between professional status/reputation of clubs. Eg. Scotland has 24 viable professional clubs, but it's also a multiple of 8 that can easily be used in cup formats (more on this next)
***Cups***
- FA Style Cup - all teams included in elimination style competition
- Battle of Nations Cup - all non-tier 1 clubs included, only under 25 players trained by club will be allowed
- National Cups - all teams included from each nation will play off in their existing national cup competition which will be modified to be a single elimination fa cup style cup as well
***Fixtures***
- Fixtures regularly played on Saturdays
- Month long break in December for National Cups to be played
- FA Cup and BoN played on Wednesdays across whole playing year (except December)
***Revenue***
- Tier 1: TV money: 25m euros, 5,000,000 Parachute Payment
- Tier 2: TV 2,5m euros, 5m for finishing first
- Tier 3: TV 100k euros, 1m for finishing first
Im posting this for feedback and to build excitement for the project as I believe this could be a really fun experience for those wanting to play a save as a dominate minority nation club such as Celtic or Ajax.

I have given this a thorough play through. Excellent idea. I made some custom database changes (but none to the structure).
I am currently running a simulated game which is in season 2109. I have had no crashes.
I started a similair update myself but could never find the time to complete it.

Glad you enjoyed it!

If i get it to work I will upload it for you to try.
Samuel Roy
Go for it mate. What changes are these if you don't mind me asking

Top two tiers were 16 teams consisting all Nations. £ and 4 were split 6 Scandinavian and the other 6.
Tiers 5 and 6 were the National Leagues with Tier 7 was unplayable but still had promotion.
There was no Euro qualification but I was adding an Intercontinental cup of sorts.
I was also going to take the 12 nations out of fifa and have them play in there own 2 year league but never got round to giving this some serious thought.

- Central (9): Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia
Have you started on any of these databases?
Samuel Roy
No not yet. There wasn't an overwhelmingly positive reaction. There was yourself and about 3 others that have showed any interest so far which was sort of disssapointing tbh!
But I no doubt will after I finish playing my current saves and am looking for a new experience!

The cup and league rules are a big game killer : Atlantic cup = Eu rule 6(ok) 6 must be trained by club(eh!) who has this many.
trained in the nation i could understand.
nations cup -no over 24's (seriously)
league rules is the same as atlantic cup. so can play starting 11 but the mostly youths after that.
Samuel Roy
Was probably a little strong on the league rules. Can't use trained in nation or it applies Netherlands to all clubs. So I had to use club. What I actually wanted was Scottish clubs have to use Scottish players etc

yeah so restarted , removing club rule in all divisions so club and divisions same advantage.
kept european qaulifiers rules though.
so i see you favour celtic no biggy, i favour rangers
so i lets see how the game goes ,heh both can be in atl league and prosper

Also the Nations Cup is all about youth development. hence why its under 25. Its not a high rep competition. Its an opportunity to play youth against other youth which provides the smaller clubs an opportunity to win a trophy
dave7867
they do how?
Samuel Roy
They qualify in order of postion amongst teams in there nation
Atlantic League (by position) > National League (by position)
The number of qualification spots is determined just as it is now, by how the teams from those nations perform in europe (via the coefficient)
Therefore all of the teams in the Atlantic league should qualify for europe and then the best ranked teams in each national league should also qualify
