Promote staff

I play FM 2018. My U18 Manager has moved on to another club so there is a staff vacancy for this position. I want to promote my Assistant Manager to that role but I can't work out if it's possible to do it. Can anybody help?

Think the only way is to offer him a new contract as the U18 manager, guessing you mean the U18 assistant as no chance your first team assistant will take the job!

Yes I did mean to offer the U18 Assistant manager the job of U18 Manager but when I offered a contract it kept defaulting to U18 Assistant manager. It's as if they didn't want to be promoted to Manager

Oh right, if the option is greyed out then that'll mean he's not interested, if not all you can do is offer good wages and see if that works to change his mind.
