I have done most of the traditional FM saves and one trophy I have never won is the Copa Libertadores.

For the last few months of FM18, I want to take a small team from one of the big footballing cities in Brazil or Argentina for example, make them a force domestically and push on for the Libertadores.

Anyone have any ideas of clubs I could use for this? Very open to suggestions. Other countries than two mentioned can be considered to.

Any help would be appreciated!

Newell's Old Boys of Argentina could be a shout. They're based in Rosario and have made it to 2 Libertadores finals without winning (a record aside from America in Colombia) and also are the club that Leo Messi started out at and reportedly supports.

Independiente could be a shout, don't think they've won it since 1984 yet they're still the record holders for most wins.

Aware that both of those are fairly well established, but could be a start for your ideas

I like the idea of Newells Old Boys. Gonna have a look at their team and see how established they are. I want a challenge that will last me a few months so need to see how far off the big boys they are.

I have looked into main cities in Argentina but most teams seem to be in the Premier Division.

Doesn't seem to work same as UK in the sense there are small clubs in big cities, most are relatively successful so it's a tough one for sure!
