I installed the fantastic facepack from here, but then I decided I didn't want faces and just want the default face silhouette.

I had it working fine, but after updating with the 13.2.2 patch, the real player faces came back into the game.

So not only did I confirm the facepack was out of the data directory, I deleted it completely from every place on my computer. I have no faces anywhere, but now the faces are showing up in the game? I don't even understand how that is possible. My save game is only 20 mb, so they can't be saved in there.

I just want the default face silhouette for all players. How do I get the game to do that?

Once you have deleted the facepack from your graphics folder you have to 'reload skin' in preferences.

That should remove the faces from the game.

thanks, that's what I thought too -- I did click clear cache, unticked use caching, ticked reload skin when confirming changes and made sure it reloaded, but the faces are always still there (I also tried every other combination just to make sure I wasn't misremembering how do deal with these issues in preferences). I've closed and reopened the game, rebooted the computer, basically everything short of uninstall/reinstall.

Before the 13.2.2 patch got applied, there were no faces in my game, every player and staff had the silhouette like I wanted, but post-patch all the faces reappeared and I can't figure out where they are coming from since I combed my computer and deleted every facepack file.

-------------------------
just some more info: the data directory structure I have now is,

C:\Users\xxxxx\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2013\graphics\pictures\faces\default

under default I have a subdirectory for male and a subdirectory for female. In each of those subdirectories, there is an silhouette image named "none.png" and a config.xml file. Specifically, these are the none.png images and config.xml files posted at this site by Rowan in post Replacement FM13 Default Player Image - Light Skin without modification.

I'm still getting regular player faces in the game, even though I want every player to have the default silhouette no face image created by Rowan.

Since the facepack is totally deleted, I'm wondering whether the SI had its own faces that shipped with the game and those are what I'm seeing. I'm not sure. If I look at the player id of a player with a face and then search the data directory for that player id, it comes up with no results. Since the image of that player's face is nowhere to be found, I can't figure out where it's coming from.

If anyone can tell me how to get rid of player faces from the game, whether by deleting something or adding a config file somewhere or whatever, I would appreciate it. For now I just have player faces turned off altogether, but I don't like it and would much rather see all players with the default silhouette "no face" image rather nothing at all.

btw, I have the default "no face" silhouette image and accompanying config files installed in the graphics/faces/default folder and in the interface preferences have caching unticked and reload skin on save ticked.

Any help is appreciated. Everything had been working fine before the game upgraded to 13.2.2. Thanks.

I think there's a tickbox in preferences that says "Show Real Faces" Simply untick that to no longer show SI's shipped cuts (you're right the games ships with SI's own, badly cut, images) - this is what you game is looking at.

You then (I belive)_ don't even need to delete any Facepacks you already have as this option will over-ride any config hunting on the game's behalf....at least that's my understanding.

All that being said, not sure why you wouldn't want the megapack afetr downloading it...but each to their own I guess.

Thanks for the input. There is indeed a tickbox in preferences for "Show pictures of real players and staff," but the way it works is if you untick it, it shows no images at all, just empty space where a player's face normally would be. If I tick it, then it shows the SI shipped cuts. (Obviously you have to turn off caching and turn on reload skin, which I have done, to make any graphical changes take effect.)

The way I thought it worked was if you ticked the box for "Show pictures of real players and staff" and had a graphics/pictures/faces directory with a config.xml file, the config.xml file would tell the game to use whatever images are indicated by the config.xml file.

So if I have a config.xml file that says use the default silhouette images for all players, then all players should get the default silhouette image; if I have a config.xml file that says use 123456.png image for player id 123456, then player 123456 will get the corresponding image; if I don't have a config.xml file, then the game will use the default SI cutout images. At least that's the way I understood it to work.

But what's happening to me is the game is not following the instruction in the config.xml file to use the default silhouette image for all players. I'm guessing it's user error somewhere on my part, but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong and that's the reason I made this thread hoping to get some help. I can't figure out how to tell the game to use default silhouette image for all players. It had been working the way I wanted it to until Steam automatically upgraded the game to 13.2.2.

The only reason is I'm managing in the lower leagues and the megapack doesn't have images most of the lower league scrubs, thus the megapack just ends up telling me which players are good or are going to be good by showing real pictures for them. I'd rather just have anonymous silhouette images for all players at this low level, then use the megapack again when I move up to a higher league where the megapack has images for all/most players.

Thanks to the other person who suggested the config generator, but it would not run for me on a mac.
