I'm actually enjoying this FM more than the last few versions for some reason.

Season 3 March & April - We tried our hardest to throw it away but have at least made the play offs.

Season 5 (not 4, i think) July - Well its gonna be a very tough season ahead, I've had to release (no sales) a number of first team players to free up wages to enable me to bring a couple of new signings. We've now a very small squad and if we avoid relegation it'll be a massive achievement. Also have the ridiculous Brexit deal which allows 17 foreign players which is good, but they can only play in the first team if earning £8k a week or more, this means there are so many great cheap foreign players I'm missing out on due to me not being able to afford the wages!

I decided at the start of the season that I'd be resigning if we get relegated so thought **** it let's just attack and try to win as many as possible, was going Ok until the Bristol game. But still doing far better than I'd expected.

My budget for next season is just £900k with £105k for wages (i'm already spending that a week), this has lead me to actively look for a new job as I don't believe I can take Southend any further without significant investment. But I will only leave if I'm able to find a job that where I feel I can take the team far.

Peter Crouch! Interesting choice by Villa. Tricky decision with you and Southend, can definitely understand why you'd leave. All depends of the job offers, I guess.
