many thanks with this update just to clarify you start the 2018/19 season as if it is the 2019/2020 one correct ?
I usually do my own type set up with a custom start date to start May 2019 with real results this is to get the transfers to be more realistic eg transfers taking place now will happen in the correct window namely summer 2019
the only issue is you do not get the correct cup winners in various comps using the real league results as the cups are simmed

Yes. You will have to start in the 2018-19 season, and pretend it is the 2019-20 season. I will change the Champions League and Europa League participants to the 2019-20 teams, but I don’t think it will be ready for the first update. I will update the file, so it’s not the final result, when I upload it this weekend. Not all promotions are decided yet, so my guess is that the final version will be uploaded at the end of June

The first update will be released tomorrow. But it’s not the final release. If you have downloaded lower leagues in Germany, it won’t work until the promotions in the Regionalliga and Oberliga are decided. I think it’s mid-june the last promotions are decided in Germany. I am currently testing it. So it should be ready tomorrow

Maybe I'm not right here, but from what I remember, there's something like "Last position in the league" field in the editor, - isn't it possible to change it?

Yes you can do it, but it will not change anything in the game. I have tried to change “last position in the league”, but it will make no changes in the game

Also, is it possible to completely change the game start date, say, to 2019 year? Not to the end of 18/19 season, but to the start of 19/20 season?

I have changed the participants in the continental comps by myself.
No it's not possible to transfer the promotions/relegations I have made to the 19/20 season. You have to play in the 2018/19 season and pretend it is the 2019/20 season

it is not possible to do never has been otherwise people wouldnt be buying the game each year they would keep using DB updates like this and sticking to old versions of the game
if you try the other option of using real results you have to start game in May 2019 and you do not get any of the cup comp winners so it is not a great option
the best way to get a mock 2019/20 season is this way as you get all the right teams(as much as is possible to do ) taking part in the comps but you have to start the game in july 2018 IF you want to take over a club immediately
you can still use a custom start date with this file once again and start in May 2019 but that will mean the season(19/20) is simmed and if you are happy with that go for it

Well, of course, I did not ask for the official editor for the start date change. Creating patches and modifications is not only a clear walk along the lines drawn by the game developers, isn’t it?
But I got feeling that even thinking about this is illegal here
So if the devs didn't give us tools for changing the start year, then we need to buy a new FM to get a new start year. Ok, got it.

this is not the official SI website and nothing to do with them you understand that so giving you tools/illegal to talk about???
if you have a gripe with things like this take it up with SI on their official forums
I have worked with the editor and advanced rules years before it was allowed by SI and it is not possible to do what you want to do end of story
the file/s put together is an attempt at a work around, everyone here puts time and effort in to make the game a better experience for all of us we can only do what is possible
