So we have seen Real Madrid making some move sin the transfer market already, singing Hazard from Chelsea and Jovic from Frankfurt. Bale doesn't seem to be favoured by Zidane or the fans, so could he be on the move? Or is he happy to sit on the bench and earn the money? Can any club afford his wage demands who'd want him? Erikson seems to have had enough at Spurs and making noises about leaving, will he end up at Real? Who will end up with De Ligt? Will Neymar get his wish to return to Barca? Will Pogba yo-yo back to Juve? Will Trippier join him with Sarri looking to be at the helm there next season? Is Lampard going to return to Chelsea, but as the manager?

Think there will be lots of good stories and some interesting transfers this window. Also, of course, a lot of money spent!

So Newcastle weren't willing to spend something like £18M for Salomon Rondon but were willing to buy Joelinton for £35-40M despite him grabbing less than 10 Bundesliga goals last season... I feel like I'm missing some logic.

I mean, if it comes off, great, and I suppose the net cost is relatively low as its reinvesting the cash from the Ayoze Perez sale but this feels like an odd signing.

Seems very much like one of those unpredictable 50/50 situations, could be a hit or could be a miss. I hope for Newcastle's sake that he'll be a great success and hits the ground running, because they need a proper scoring threat straight off the start of the season.

I love how you (almost) never can tell who will do consistantly well in the Premier League. Remember when Norwich bought Ricky van Wolfswinkel as their number one striker. The lad grabbed lots of goals before and after his stint with the Canaries, but only one (1) in 25 appearances for them. And in the opposite end of the spectrum of surprises: Who would've thought Glenn Murray had all those crucial Premier League goals in him at such "senior" age?

It's so exciting and refreshing how - both in real life and in FM - you can always be surprised one way or the other when a player's most visible attributes don't necessarily match their performances and actual capability. (Especially when you manage to find them the most suitable role in your system and they reward you by overperforming every time.) That unpredictibility is the spice of football. Well, one the many assorted spices, really.

This whole Dybala for Lukaku deal seems crazy! United should snap their arm off and it seems it is down to Dybala now as to whether this happens.

Makes no sense to me, I guess the only problem here is if Dybala can perform in the Prem as he'll it find it a lot tougher than playing for Juve in Serie A. Also makes you wonder why Juve no longer want him and how on earth they believe Lukaku to be a better option.

Constantly on and off Twitter on me phone but hoping to catch the last hour at home, naked.

If we can get get Luiz and Tierney done I'd be more than happy with our dealings. Luiz probably not the ideal centre back we need but is used to winning and a decent leader so 'should' improve us a little at the back. Certainly for me the most surprising deal so far.

Seeing as it got rumoured pretty much every year after he left, I should've guessed Andy Carroll might've returned to Newcastle at some point or other.

Whether he's ever fit enough to play is another matter, naturally.

So, we've brought Bola back from Boro on a loan deal, which I am very happy about as I think he is a great wing back for League 1 level. Ryan Hardie arrived with a lot of potential hype but hasn't performed on his few chances this season so we have shipped him out on loan to Plymouth, I hoping he finds form there and comes back as the player we thought we were getting originally. Strikers are a position we need to improve on, Larry seems to be relying on Gnanduillet and as shown in the FA Cup his decision making isn't always the best. Nuttall has shown glimpses but not enough for him to be relied on.

Elsewhere, I am getting confused as to which Portuguese player called Fernandes is being bid on by which English club!
