At the start of the season I didn't want to make any sweeping changes before seeing how the team performed.
I was not disappointed, not only finishing top of the league in my first season (with a 4 point cushion), but winning the League Cup as well really is the icing on the cake.
I spent 29M on 5 young players who will hopefully play a big part in the next few seasons.
I feel will become my transfer policy, buy them young, expose them to the high level of football Spurs play and then sell them on if I don't need them.
I'm coming for you Bill Nicholson!

After finishing top of the league last season I was over the moon, but if I wanted to equal (or beat) the trophy cabinet of Bill Nicholson I wouldn't be able to rest on my laurels.
I started this season by reviewing the team from top to bottom, Harry Kane was amazing for me last season but I wanted some back for him in the event of a long term injury. I signed Thorgan Hazard to be backup straight away and for smaller cup and European games. I also signed Jerome Sinclair and Will Keane for the future. Like most of my signings they will go out on loan for a few seasons. I picked up Julian Weigl to play in the defensive midfield position as I don't think Deli Alli is currently ready to play this full time. Harry Wilson and Callum Gribbin will both go on my loan list.
I'm trying to create a viable second team with can play the lower teams in the Premier League and let my "A" team concentrate on higher level games both domestic and European. I aim to do this without spending a ridiculous amount on transfer fees and always keeping the club balance high.
The following players had all played 5 or less league games;
Andros Townsend - 5
Clinton NJie - 0 - His wage was incredible, IIRC around 50k per week
Frederico Fazio - 0
So all three of them were placed on the transfer list.
I was cautious not to sell too many players as the champions league and cup runs would make this a long season. I also wanted to continue to expand my team with quality young players.
This season we managed to finish first again by only 2 points (4 clear last season) and again we picked up the league cup, doubling our trophy haul to 4.
I'm slightly worried about next season as all of the teams around me are spending massive amount of money on transfer fees and I might need to spend to keep up.
Over the last two seasons;
Man Utd - 180M
Chelsea - 101M
Man City - 167M
Arsenal - 180M

After winning two seasons in a row, I didn't want to change anything about the team. By Christmas things were not looking great, 3 losses and 5 draws had started to affect my title run and I was already out of the league cup. I knew I need to make a big splash in the transfer market all of the other top 6 teams have spent massively over the last two seasons and I didn't want to get let behind. I felt our weakest position was in the midfield and I knew Everton's Ross Barkley would be perfect in that position. Although I didn't want to spend over the odds he still cost me 60M. He repaid that by being the young player of the season, 4 assists and 2 player of the match awards.
Even with Ross Barkley we failed to peform in the league, with 7 losses and 12 draws we ended up a staggering 20 points of the top of the table.
I continued with the tidying of surplus requirement by transfer listing, Goalkeeper Michael Vorm, centre back Cameron Carter-Vickers, Milos Veljkovic and Kyle Walker-Peters. None of them had made a single senior appearance and spent the last 2 seasons on loan at various clubs.
Although the league wasn't a success I surprised even myself by winning the champions league! The highlights included overturning a 3-0 loss to Real Madrid in the second leg of the quarter final winning 4-4 on away goals, luckily they had a player sent of in the 3rd minute. Smashing PSG 6-1 over 2 legs in the semi final and then beating Man Utd 2-0 in the final.
We also managed to pickup the FA Cup by beating Chelsea 3-1 in the semi and then Liverpool 3-2 in the final.
Another 2 trophies to add the cabinet, we are currently averaging 2 a season.

Although I won the Champions League and FA Cup, I missed out on the league cup and Premier League titles last season. I needed an impact signing to really take Spurs to the next level. I decided I needed more in the midfield to work with Ross Barkley, flamboyant midfielder Philippe Coutinho was the perfect choice. I managed to sign him for 56M, more than I wanted to pay but I knew he would be a key player for me. This was my second big signing in 6 months and the finances were starting to look quite low now.
My first two games in this season were the Community Shield against Chelsea and the Euro Super Cup against Sporting (POR), after beating Chelsea 2-0 and Sporting (POR) 3-1, I added 2 more trophies to my cabinet before the season had started.
I then won the Club World Championship beating Santos Laguna 5-0 in the semi and then SAN 3-2 in the final.
The league cup proved to be also successful besting Everton on penalties in the final.
The highlight of the Champions League this year was not winning it (although we did beating SLB 3-2 in the final) but overcoming a 2-0 Semi Final First Leg against Barcelona but smash them 6-0 in the return leg!
The only trophy I didn't manage to win this season was the FA Cup, which I lost 1-0 to Liverpool in the final.
Not long after starting the season Hugo Lloris told me he was unhappy and wanted to move to a bigger club! We have just won the champions league, and have 2 league titles in the last 3 years but he wanted a bigger club.
I quickly found a replacement in Marc-André ter Stegen who was Barcelona's first choice keeper, we ended up paying 46M for him in January. I really can't spend any big money next season otherwise we are going to be in serious financial trouble.
