How to make a custom start date easily

Here are some custom start dates feel free to download and edit to suite your needs

NB there has been a bug reported to SI that for custom dates you have to use a Monday this may be fixed in FM 20 but it hasnt been in my tests so have a look and try it hopefully it is sorted so I have a file with today's date too(21/11/19 but when you load it reverts to the previous Monday)

Feel free to use the file to suite your own personal use only and do not post or pass on the file without seeking permission here first even if you have adapted it.

Right how do you make a quick and easy custom start date

You can either create your own file or in this example use one of our old custom files

download one they are fmf files

put it/them in your editor data folder in FM20

open the editor and select load editor data

find the file and select (here it is the 21/11/19 file)

change that date to suite your needs NB you cannot usually go later than the end of May following game start date

Now I have changed this start date to- 11/05/20

save the file name it by the start date its up to you

now you need to test the file

Once checked the file states its verified and so its good to go in game

load the game and select a new career

now select data base and in the drop down menu select the edited file/s you want
here I want the 11/05/20 one

after selecting the edited files you want to load press confirm then advanced set up

Now select add/remove leagues

you must select the top right option to get the custom date to work- its under Africa and called sortitoutsi.netCustomStartDate

Now select the game start date bottom right hand of page

select the sortitoutsi option and the date you want

with this and the guide I have put up for real fixtures/results all users can make files for their own needs now so you dont have to wait for files to be updated you can crack on whenever you are ready to try a new save.

NB -As with all custom start dates you will be unable to select the United States on game start up you can select any/all other nations but the US wont allow a custom start date it has always been like that.

custom start date for late May 2021, ideal for someone wanting a late game start to run tests on edited files etc where you are looking for issues with the start of a new season ie 21/22, so you dont need to holiday a full season in advance😉
