I renewed and incresed the lenght of the contract of Chiró N'Toko and Andréa Fileccia. Further thing to mention is N'Toko became international for Congo, altho i dont know if i should be happy with that. But with the intrest high in N'Toko (already turned down a 60k bid) he might still leave is someone is willing to bid around the asking price of a 100k.
Brought in 4 player to strenghten the first eleven, and 1 to cover for long term injury of Kabeya:
Iwan Almeida (23) DR mentaly very strong player signed for free for € 1.2k a week.
Rob Kiernan (22) DC a good left footed, whom i expect to grow a lot in first team conditions signed for free for € 1.2k a week
Stephane Mediera (23) DM a strong fella with good heading signed for free for € 1.1k a week
Richard Haklander (29) Allround great midfielder signed for free for € 1.1k a week
Karl Shapperd (22) AMR signed to cover for the injured Kabeya on a season loan without wage.
Further brought in a 11 other players to create more depth and strengthen our youth team.
Will be playing same tactic as previous season, and i hope to get an other promotion right away.
Almost forgot to mention that the board decided to build a new stadium.

I coudnt find the wage room to sign him first season. Unfortnuatly he didnt get a club at all last season because i was curious if he done well at an other club.

The betting agencies gaves us 10-1 for promotion. I wish i could spend some money to place a decent size bet on that odds because i feel our chances are much greater.
The team seem to be in good shape, but would love to bring in a loan back-up left back. But then with no wage cost because i have no room left for any wages.

Unlike last season the squad depth i ahve gotten helps me greatly to get through the tight fixture list you get at the start of the season. We can now cope with a match every 3 days rotating in good back-up players.
With the month drawing to its end i finaly got my disered left back on loan. Now i got all possition covered double. Bad news is that i lost Takak 3 to 4 month with a slipped disc.
All in all not a bad 1st month, consedering we could (should) have won the Exeter match. But we are in the play-off spots and still aiming for promotion.

The spot of the injured Takak has been picked-up by David Lynch brilliantly. I dont feel we are weaker then before and it gave me the oppertunity to bring in Irish U19 international Jack Byrne into the first team from my youth team (signed him from ManC in pre-season on free transfer). First team action gives him a massive lift and already is starting to fit in nicely.
Christian Kabeya's return from injury is progressing nicely already back to his assist habbits.
The good run brought me 2nd in Motm competion
And we are top of the table. Underlining my feeling we would be right there when the promotion spot are given away.
Further i managed to extend Mustafa Amezrine contract for 5 years. Still want to extent a couple of more contracts but i have run out of room on my wage budget. Hopefully i can get more budget in januari when i can upgrade my seasons expectations.

An other brilliant mont gone. Not losing in 7 games. And still a feeling we got have gotten even more points.
But then again, it wasnt enough to claim the Motm title comming in 2nd again. David Lynch continues his good form replacing Takak, leading to a 2nd place in the Potm competition.
Last month i was bragging about the good display by Fileccia, well that came back hunting me. He is on a goal draught for a shocking 614 minutes now.
Reason why we are doing so well is our airforce. We are deadly from corner kicks giving us always a good chance to score easily in a match.
All in all we are looking to pull away on the top.
We have to see if we can keep up the pace with the cup competitions starting.
Dan
Fantastic work in the BSP, I know there isn't too much difference between the BSP and the BSN/S but your doing very well still!

Worst news of it all is that Christian Kabeya again suffers from a torn muscle (hamstring this time) injury. With his contract ending at the end of the season i think i have to let him go as it seems to become a liability. To bad because he has been an outstanding winger for me.
More news from the injury front is Fileccia picking up an other minor injury. Maybe this is good news aswell because last time he came back from injury he netted 8 goals in 4 matches. Other good news is Takak returned from injury and made his first minutes..
FA-cup we came trough the 4th qualifing round beating Eastleigh with basicly our second line up on the pitch. But the first roud we where totaly outplayed by division2 side Aldershot. This is worrying as i hope to play that division next season.
The league gave us no real struggle as we continue our unbeaten run. Altho we had to pull off some last minute winners/equalizers.
But we still look steady on top and in full contention of claming a second title in a row.

I agree the cup is just to make the treasuer happy. But the thing is i need to cope with that opposition next season (hopefully). So that was my worry.
Dyrim
Other good news is Andréa Fillicia ending his goal draught after 11 hours.
We remain steady at top of the table altho we lost some ground with a couple of draws.
Only minor worry is that the intrest in Kai van Hese is high with a couple of Dutch team looking to sign him if the transfer window opens.
I wish meself a very happy new year and an other league title!

The FA-Trophy i kinda trew away playing all my reserves and a couple of youngster to keep my main squad fit enough for the league. Altho they tried real hard they just couldnt pull of the stunt. But With a fresh league squad we rockted away and now got a real healthy margin at the top. And we are now unbeaten for 27 games. And still this all is not enough to earn me a Motm award, came in second again.

17 points ahead with 8 games to play. The title can only slip away inder very suspicoius sircumstances. With only victories i finaly grabbed a Motm award (long overdue imo).
Scoring the most and conceding the least we truly are the deserved leader (and winners) of the league.
The only thing to aim for now is to keep the unbeaten run extending.
Dyrim
With 5 games to play we claim the Blue Square Bet Premier title. Luckily we got a good gap because we seem to be stumbling towards the finishline. Altho Kai van Hese still managed to come in 3th in the Potm competition.
It all started with the Wrexham game, where we got our first straight red card after 20 months under my reign. It ended our 33 undefeated league matches streak. And some how the team seem all shocked about it. Not winning a game after so far.
Mustafa Amezrine became Marrocan international, and immidiatly earned his first cap.
Bad news is that i tried to renew the contract of Renaldo Jongebloet but he is asking to much, or atleast more then i can afford.
Good news is that Christian Kabeya played his first matches again after returning from his second muscle injury. Still have to see if i renew his contract tho. He deteriorated a lot during his injuries.

Final standing
With season finisshing early for. Its now nail biting till start of next season. Final tables as follows.Dan

The last fixture wherent to bad, and i got an other Motm title.
The board seems happy aswell as the offered me a 2 years extention on my contract. I have signed for 1.2k a week.
Only thing that can be trouble is the intrest in Kai van Hese. Due to not having a brilliant financial position i am afraid the board will overrule me is i decline a good offer.
Pre-Season here i come.

But no time to look back, i have to team to get ready for a greater challenge. Division2. With only Jasar Takak leaving, i managed to get Renaldo Jongebloet to sign an renewal for a decent wage and renewed Christian Kabeya as i didnt have an alternative, I start with basicly the same squad as i played last year.
Eventho the goalkeeper comes out as rather weak i have full confidence in Mustafa Amezrine abilities. So i wont be chasing any upgrade there. The weak spot is my right winger with Kabeya as only viable option i'll be looking to bring in a player there. Further i need back-up for my centre back positions and for my left back. And i want to get a centre midfielder who can challenge. David Lynch and Richard Haklander. I started optimistic as upto now i could find (very) good signings every season. But this time i ran out of luck (or skills). I did manage to find the back-ups for my centre backs, and an alternative for Kabeya, altho it isnt an improvement yet.
And then when i was about to sign a good player to compete for the midfield spots disaster struck.
As you all know these take over talks can drag on for ages. In the mean I can do no more deals and even have to worry about my job. Well I dont realy worry about my job because what other manager could have pulled of the stunt promoting two years in a row, winning both the BSS and the BSP title. But then the next day, as thunder stroke in a clear sky:
And the transfer embargo was lifted. Unfortunatly there was any funds added for transfer or wages. But I could continue in bringing in the midfielder i layed eyes on.
I am still looking to see if i can find a great right winger, but it wont be easy as i ran out of wage budget. I'll try to get a loan deal without wage cost somewhere for the back-up position for my left back. This all bring my current squad strength to this:
Pre-season matches went by without anything special or noticable, or it has to be falling to win last match. And start of the season awaits. I still hope i can be in contention to get a promotion or play-off spot.

Season started off leaving me with some mixed feelings. Ofcourse we did great in the Capital One Cup winning both from L1 side Plymouth and Championship side Sheffield Wednesday (in extra time). Also we are still unbeaten in the league. But we keep drawing our games where we should have won them. Especialy against Southend we where left wondering how we didnt win. We outplayed them the whole match and hit the frame of the goal on many occasions.
On the transfer front i did manage to get some deals done. I took a gamble on a right winger coming from the Real Madrid youth academy, then failing to break into the squad of Las Palmas. But still an U21 international for Bulgaria. I could sign him for low wage and free transfer and has decent stats. But it remains to be seen if he turns out to be better then Christian Kabeya. Further did i get in a left back on loan.
All the draws left me a bit behinde (6 points to the top) in the leaguetable but nothing is lost. A couple of wins can move me up very quickly (a couple of losses move me dow as quickly).

Third round in the Capital One cup drawed us against our parent club Reading (premier). We had a good records against them in pre-season matches, so we went into the game hoping that something could happen. And eventho nothing did happen we kept a close game for the full 90 minutes, not giving away much at the back, but also not creating much at the front. Extra time was just a bit to long at the end conceding 2 goals, and to be honest it could even had been more.
The Reading game and the extra time took a lot out of the lads, leaving us without a chance in the next game. But we had high hopes for the last game of the month. With everyone fit and rearing to go we took on Oxford at home. A close game but early in the second period they pulled away 2 goals and we couldnt catch up anymore.
I feel we are better then our current position, but feeling dont win promotions. We are 5 points a drift from a play-off spot (1 game in hand) and 7 points from direct promotion. So a lot a stake in the next month because all is still very close.

Salisbury fans where thrilled and worried by new signing. With the signing of Japanees U21 international Takagi the club could go into a finacial crisis having overdrawn the wage budget by a shocking 10%. But the majority of the fans are thrilled by the propect have such a wonderfull player at the club.
Manager Jörgen van den Berg explains the reason behinde the signing of Takagi. First of all we want the best players as possible at the club. And i rate Takagi as one of the best there is. Secondly we where used to an very attacking strategy. This worked wonderfully at the lower levels, but i have the feeling that at this point it leaves us to much exposed at the back. So with the technical staff we created a new tactic, and to play this tactic to its full potential we need a very strong attacking midfielder with great playmaking skill. This is where we want Takagi to shine.
Later he reacted to the question how much it would strenghten the squad. Ofcourse would it strenghten the squad enormously, otherwise we wouldnt have taking the risk signing him. We know we have taken a fianicial risk and ofcourse we are confinced it will pay off. This season we had trouble signing a good right winger, but now with this new tactic that position doesnt exist anymore. Instead we got a very strong playmaker, and or strong left winger will now play support upfront. This will also help Anréa Fileccia to get into more scoring possition. But i cant see into the future so time will tell.
On the question is he is planning to sell player to ease the wage preasure Van den Berg reacted. We have to wait and see, i think the club can get by with the current wageload and i feel we need all the players we have at the moment to realize our promotion dream. But if thing dont turn out the way we planned it, we might be forced to offlad a couple of players. Jörgen van den Berg refused to name the players he has in mind to be sold.
