Credit to WicksyFM's 5-3-2 which I used as a base for this.

Tactic is strong defensively and fairly good going forward, I used this towards the end of my Nottingham Forest save where we went on a great run and won the Championship, have also holidayed half a season with Liverpool which see just one defeat and some good wins, 3-0 away at Tottenham, 5-2 home to R Madrid and draws away to Man Utd and Man City.

Obviously play as many friendlies as possible to get team familiarity high as quick as possible.

I generally start all games with the attacking mentality, but if its against a tougher opponent I'll switch to balanced if take the lead especially if away from home. Just use common sense with game management really!

I use no opposition instructions.

Let me know how it goes for you.

Anyone else using this and given it chance to settle in?

I've updated the file last night with two attacking corner routines (made by Guido Merry). Also if using with a smaller side I'd suggest against the bigger teams to start with the balanced mentality rather than all out attack when away from home. At home I still start attacking no matter who I'm against.

Though as I said in the main post, match mentality is really down to yourselves as you'll know how good/bad your team is.

File updated to v2 after a decent run in my Forest save, plus it is creating plenty of CCC's. Note for the away win at Arsenal I started and finished with a 'very defensive' mentality.

Try using balanced or defensive mentality for away games until your squad is stronger

Very big defeat at Tottenham, did you create many chances though as I've found I very rarely get completely outplayed it's usually just the opposition take their chances and we miss ours.

Second season: we go in champions league!
I used balanced and defensive mentality more often.

Good to see people are using it and working for them, certainly seems to perform better for sides not expected to win the league. But I think that is a problem with the game itself as if it performs for them then surely it'll be even better for the top teams!

There's something about the way teams set up based on reputation, might have a part to play in that

Yeah there definitely is, personally I think it's too overpowered and can really destroy people's saves. Obviously you expect the game to get a bit tougher but usually there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop a terrible run of results start usually because you're at the top of the league.

Though it does seem that if you just stick at what you're doing and not start messing with the tactic you will come out of the run.

I used this tactic in the Southampton Susie challenge and had decent success. Only change I made was I switched to Positive instead of Attacking.

Yeah I generally use positive much more, seems to work better than attacking even at home.

Have tried a few different tactics in my current Arsenal save but all were struggling, just about managed to save my job and qualify for Europa in my first season. Continued into the second before going back to this one at the start of december, results are below showing an instant improvement with our only defeats coming at Old Trafford and Anfield.

We went on to win the league plus the Europa and FA Cup.

Current starting line up (yes that is De Bruyne )

Have made a couple of changes since the original upload, positive mentality and all 3 center backs are now ball playing. Will update the download incase I've made anymore that I cannot remember over the weeks!

Should work well with them, but may need another central midfielder (Mezzala) and maybe a left wing back as I'm not too sure how good Luke Shaw is on this version?

No not usually but I do train the players in each position to improve them. The assistant nearly always trains players in their preferred position which makes little sense of already comfortable in it...

Switched to this tactic mid season (as the current tactic suddenly stopped working) with an Everton squad that previous season clinched third place with a similar tactic.
Managed to win the Champions League (somehow) but only finished 12th in the league and got the sack during the summer.

Continued the tactic with Fiorentina and are in second place (9 points behind an undefeated Milan) during winter break, lots of 2-0, 2-1 wins and a winning streak of 8 games in a row.
A bit concerned since both games I've played after the latest match update to the game have been losses though. Will see how the season ends!

I play using the public beta so the newer ME was available a while back on there and I noticed the difference in results straight away. I may look to make a new tactic once the winter update is out but no point at the moment as fairly certain there will be another ME update to come. Though I will say the current version is a lot better for scoring one on ones and there seems to be a lot less long balls over the top.

Managed to win Serie A the third season with Fiorentina (3 losses, 2 draws). Milan were untouchable with Zidane as manager the first two seasons as they only lost a game per season.
Only manged to win once he left...

Super tactic anyway!
Time to change teams and tactic.
