Hopefully this doesn't lead to any drastic changes other than forcing drivers to adhere to flags correctly

A Statement from the family of Jules Bianchi
Yokkaichi, Japan
7 October 2014, 23.00hrs local/15.00hrs BST
The following statement is provided by the family of Jules Bianchi, in conjunction with the Mie General Medical Center, and is distributed on their behalf by the Marussia F1 Team.

“This is a very difficult time for our family, but the messages of support and affection for Jules from all over the world have been a source of great comfort to us. We would like to express our sincere appreciation.

Jules remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi. He has suffered a diffuse axonal injury and is in a critical but stable condition. The medical professionals at the hospital are providing the very best treatment and care and we are grateful for everything they have done for Jules since his accident.

We are also grateful for the presence of Professor Gerard Saillant, President of the FIA Medical Commission, and Professor Alessandro Frati, Neurosurgeon of the University of Rome La Sapienza, who has travelled to Japan at the request of Scuderia Ferrari. They arrived at the hospital today and met with the medical personnel responsible for Jules’ treatment, in order to be fully informed of his clinical status so that they are able to advise the family. Professors Saillant and Frati acknowledge the excellent care being provided by the Mie General Medical Center and would like to thank their Japanese colleagues.

The hospital will continue to monitor and treat Jules and further medical updates will be provided when appropriate.”

Same thing that happened Richard Hammond. Hopefully the same outcome but he was a 'special' case I believe (rare that no real lasting effects occur)

You say that yet in the video the steward at the top was waving a green flag at the time :O

Double yellow flags were being waved which basically means "be prepared to come to an immediate stop". Driving 200kph around a wet corner is not being prepared to stop

As much as it's horrible what has happened to him, he wasn't driving safely.

But saying that, most other drivers were probably doing the same, he was just the unlucky one.

They should have mandatory speed restrictions during yellow flags, the same as in the Pits.

Didn't want to really bump this thread but sadly Jules Bianci has passed away, nine months after that crash in Japan.

#ForzaJules! Such a shame, he was a talented young driver and Ferrari have come out and said he was in line to replace Kimi when the two of them would part ways!

Rosberg Retires 5 days after winning title.

Can't decide if I approve this move or if it is cowardly.

But qualified well, got into Q3 with both McLarens there which is very good for them.

Shame Hamilton didn't get out of Q2 as it would of been interesting to see how close he could of got to that ferrari pace. Shame he always moans about problems when hes caught out tho

Name a driver that doesn't complain when his car isn't performing? They all do it.

Oh admittedly so, just Hamilton plays on it so much, they mistimed it in Q2 and failed to get a proper run in

Another weekend where Ferrari look very impressive and almost uncatchable, Bottas doesn't seem to have anything near enough to keep pace with them in a race like Hamilton has shown a couple times this season. Delighted Ricciardo got a podium especially after last year.

Bumping a real old thread here...

New Liveries for 2020 although for some/most you wouldn't know they're updated from last years.

Almost an old school thread this given most of the posts were still in 2014. Also quite something that back then, the vibe was "Anyone but Vettel & Red Bull" whereas now "Anyone but Hamilton & Mercedes" might be the common thought among neutrals.

Tbf 2019 had some pretty good races overall where Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull were often level pegging, McLaren and Renault even ran them close on some weekends, and Toro Rosso sneaking podiums. So it would be cool if that continues.

Yeah, last season was the best in a while for races I thought! Been watching a bit of the practice today and as much as it's mundane having no racing - it does get you excited for Aus!

Do they overtake in this "race" format yet?
