Yesterday I have played 4 pre-season games: 11-0, 4-0, 3-1. 2-1... (all away games). Remember first games of Barcelona with Guardiola? They had even a few losses. My Ball possession always at 60-65%, worse case 20 shots, best case more than 30, long range shots very few (1/3 of total shots even less). Results are normal except 11-0 ( wow!!! ) but as I said players are tired (condition around 80-85% beginning of the game) due to pre-season and not full identified with tactic (bars are not yet full). Strangely they do not have a high number os passes (although a lot of players have pass percentage near 100%) , but I believe is because they do not need to since the teams played against were weak. Let's see the next games, I have 2 pre-season games at home and next Portuguese Supercup. Still, for those who like tiki-taka it is very enjoyable to watch players with this tactic :-) for those who find it boring, they will not like it :-)

Did you try with the instructions I wrote?

Tiki-Taka has always been very hard to recreate on FM.

Tactic I shared here, possession average around 65%, pass completion near 90%.
The new one, that I have wrote some instructions, is arround 65-70%, pass completion also 90% (88, 89). I have some players that do not even miss one pass. Although they are instructed to pass to feet (and other specific instructions) they do not make a lot of passes... still :-) This is the part I am working on and I believe today I will have these detalis solved.
Remember, tiki-taka is all about control... control the space, control the ball, always keep the ball. Also it is NOT a rigid system, nor even 10 players plus a goal-keeper. No! And it is all about movement, so you have to keep the ball and keep moving to unbalance the opposite team.
I have read and tried a lot of tiki-taka tactics but they all fail as a tiki-taka system, because the instructions are simply wrong. I am not saying they are not good tactics, I believe they are, but they are not tiki-taka :-)

Mark, I can tell you now. I have cracked it mate. After hours, days of researching, reading, trying, I have finally cracked it. Like everything else, now I can say... and it was so simple :-) There are out there some tiki-taka tactics but although they could be nice tactics, they simply do not work. Why? Well, Barcelona does not play with a rigid or counter-attack philosophy, neither an attacking strategy. It's about control and beeing fluid, two things that I already use in the first tactic. But there is something else extremly important, that makes total difference that nobody in FM uses, at least I never saw it in the other tactics... but this, I will reveal tomorrow with the tactic :-)
