Retiring Players

I have to say:-

I had Mat Hummel serving my Man Utd as a captain for 5 years before succumbed to an career-ending injury. The weirdest part is, after he abruptly retired, I am not able to sign him anymore citing.

I am considering retirement at this stage of my career and need to make sure that my last contract takes that into account.

Usually I'd let this go but I really like how I've prepped him by sending him for coaching courses and whatnot.

Do you guys know how to sort this out?

if he doesnt want a job at this stage not a lot you can do.....only way in theory would be pre game(no use to you in a save) and setting up in career plans for player/s to want to be a coach etc in future this way they wont fully retire and will stay in the DB as a non player, he should in theory take a non playing job IF they want to work for you/your club
