Highlights

The Championship title is going down to the wire. Just like over the last two months, the lead changed again as West Brom gained the upper hand and now know that victory against Queens Park Rangers at home on the final day will clinch the title. Leeds take on Charlton on the final day but the turning point could prove to be the 1-1 draw against bottom of the table Barnsley that allowed West Brom to take the lead in the title race.

The playoff places are all but secured with Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Brentford guaranteed a spot. Preston look set for 6th baring any disasters on the final day, although Bristol City and Swansea will be applying the pressure with the former winning all their games in April and needing a four goal victory against Preston on the final day to give themselves a chance.

Down the bottom of the table Barnsley's loss to Nottingham Forest confirmed relegation for the Yorkshire club. However, Luton, Birmingham, Hull, Stoke and Huddersfield could all still join them in dropping down to League One. Birmingham lost every game in April and will need to turn things around against Derby on the final day. None of those in danger of going down play each other on the final day so there will be a lot of score watching throughout the 90 minutes.

Highlights

Another title fight going down to the very last matchday. Coventry and Rotherham are separated by just one point heading into the final day of the season but Coventry hold the one point advantage and play already relegated AFC Wimbledon. Meanwhile, Rotherham have to host playoff chasing Sunderland.

Fleetwood's season is over due to the odd number of teams in the league but are guaranteed a playoff place. However, the remaining spots are still up for grabs with Doncaster, Sunderland, Peterborough, Wycombe and Oxford all in with a chance. Portsmouth's poor late season form saw them drop out of contention in what will prove a disappointing season. None of the playoff contenders play each other on the final day of the season which should make for interesting viewing.

All the relegation spots have been decided before the drama of a final day with AFC Wimbledon joining Southend and Bolton in dropping down to League Two.

Highlights

Heading into the final day Swindon Town sat two points behind Plymouth Argyle and needed a miracle to be crowned champions. A miracle it was as Plymouth conceded in the 86th minute to go behind at home against Port Vale and squander the title as Swindon held on for the win away to Macclesfield. Crewe Alexandra were also in the hunt but a draw at Cambridge resigned them to third place, although with four going up this year that was enough for automatic promotion.

Cheltenham Town, Colchester United, Exeter City and Port Vale also made the playoffs with little change during the final month of the season. Northampton Town had been in the hunt for a playoff spot but they failed to score a single goal in April, losing all of their games to drop way back to 12th.

At the bottom of the table, Stevenage, as expected, were dumped from the Football League after finishing bottom of the table by nine points.

Highlights

Barcelona are in firm control of the La Liga title race after Real Madrid picked up just one point from matches with Real Sociedad and Mallorca at the beginning of the month. Barcelona could wrap it up before the final day regardless of Real's results if they win their next four.

There were some big movers in the middle of the table with Atletico Madrid finally making their charge towards the top three. Getafe suffered a tough month and dropped from 4th to 8th, whilst Osasuna pulled away from the relegation battle by jumping from 15th to 11th.

No one has been relegated just yet by Leganes and Espanyol are six points adrift tied at the bottom of the table. Mallorca are three points from safety but will be hoping to close the gap to Eibar and Celta Vigo who are both dangerously close to the drop.

Highlights

Juventus have pulled seven points clear of their nearest pursuers Lazio, although Inter Milan have a game in hand and could bridge that gap to six. Lazio managed to come away from their trip to Turin with a point but probably needed all three if they were to have a chance of knocking Juventus off their perch come the end of May.

Atalanta are nine points adrift back in fourth but they have extended their lead of Roma to five points with five games to go. Sampdoria (four places) and Fiorentina (two places) were the big movers during April as they put daylight between themselves and those at the bottom of the table.

Sassuolo have gone into free fall and now sit just two points above the relegation zone after picking up one point throughout April. There's just eight points between Genoa in 18th and Hellas Verona in 9th, proving just how close it is heading into the final stretch of the season. Unfortunately for SPAL and Brescia it looks as if their relegation to Serie B is inevitable.

Highlights

PSG clinched the title officially with six games to go to complete their third straight Ligue 1 title and ninth overall. In behind there were changes all over the shop. Marseille and Rennes flipped places yet again in the battle for second, two points separating them with four games to go.

The major movers during April were Bordeaux who jumped an incredible seven places in the table. They now lead the race for fifth although just five points separates them and Nice down in 14th, which should make for an exciting finish to the season.

Down the bottom of the table, Toulouse have been relegated with just 21 points from 34 matches. Amiens look set to join them but the final relegation spot is still up in the air as Nimes sit two points off Saint Etienne. Dijon, Metz and Brest could all still be dragged into a relegation scrap if they are not careful.

Highlights

Things have suddenly gotten very interesting in Germany. Bayern Munich picked up just four points from their four games in April and that has handed the advantage to Leipzig who now lead the standings by a point with three games to go. It has also brought Borussia Dortmund just one point behind them and Borussia Monchengladbach four points off the lead in fourth. Bayer Leverkusen continued their superb European and DFB Pokal form with victories in the league and they still have an outside chance of taking the title with six points to make up in the remaining games.

From 7th to 15th there were position changes with Freiburg's poor month dropping them three places to 10th whilst Frankfurt and Augsburg pulled themselves away from the relegation battle. Both clubs in the capital suffered poor months and they are now in danger of falling into a relegation battle. Paderborn are down but Werder Bremen used their game in hand to propel themselves up to 17th and now have a chance of a miraculous escape. Six points separates 17th and 11th proving the bottom could be just as tight as the top come the final day of the season.

Highlights

This is going to go down to the wire as Portugal's two giants Porto and Benfica sit neck-and-neck with just three games to go. Porto had the better month in April winning all of their five matches, whilst Benfica's draw away at Maritmo allowed their rivals to join them level on points.Benfica have Vitoria Guimaraes and bottom side Desportivo Aves to play before hosting Sporting on the final game of the season. Porto also have to play Sporting, as well as Braga on the final day of the season, with Moreirense in between.

During April there were no real changes in the top half but down the bottom Tondela and Maritmo both jumped up three places, leapfrogging Gil Vicente, Boavista and Belenense who all dropped down towards the danger end. With only two sides facing relegation, though, it's between Sesportivo Aves, Portimonense, who doubled their win tally for the season in April, Pacos de Ferreira and Belenenses.

Highlights

With two games there are just two points separating Ajax and AZ Alkmaar at the top of the Eredivisie table. Alkmaar finished the month unbeaten but a draw to Fortuna Sittard cost them the lead in the title race as Ajax smashed Willem II 5-0 the next day to regain top spot. Ajax play VVV next before a final day trip to Fortuna Sittard, whilst Alkmaar play Utrecht at home before travelling to Emmen.

In the race for third PSV leapfrogged Feyenoord in what was the only change in the top half of the table during April. Down the bottom there were several changes as Fortuna Sittard and FC Twente did their survival hopes the world of good with a solid month. RKC Waalwijk have given themselves a chance of avoiding automatic relegation, although they are already resigned to a playoff at the very least. As it stands Zwolle and ADO Den Haag will be fighting it out with the challengers from the Eerste Divisie although the pair could still drop Fortuna Sittard down if results go their way.

PSG reach first ever Champions League final where they'll face Bayern Munich

https://i.ibb.co/LRMhMHr/Neymar-shines-but-PSG-held-by-Monaco-in-thriller191347451934575189.jpg

PSG have finally reached a Champions League final after holding Barcelona to a 1-1 draw in the second leg of the semi final at the Parc des Princes.

The French giants have been striving for Europe's top prize ever since Qatari investors pumped millions into the club and they are now within touching distance after a nervy but successful night under the lights in Paris.

Barcelona needed to not only overturn a defeat from the first leg but also the fact that PSG had three away goals to their name, meaning unless they could match them they'd need to win by two clear goals.

The away side started positively as you would expect, driving forward in waves with PSG looking to hold onto their clean sheet for as long as possible. Lionel Messi came within inches of scoring a spectacular volley as the ball bounced off the inside of the post and across the goal mouth before being cleared by the PSG defence.

Keylor Navas, a familiar opponent for many of the Barcelona eleven, was at his very best to deny Messi and Arturo Vidal, keeping the scores level as the game headed into the latter stages.

However, the pressure finally told as Barcelona took the lead with 9 minutes to go. Vidal played a ball into Messi whose first time pass avoided the diving Idrissa Gueye and found Antoine Griezmann just outside the area. The French striker's vicious first time shot flew past the outstretched Navas and into the top corner to give Barcelona a lifeline.

With Barcelona now throwing everything at PSG to try and snatch a dramatic late winner, the hosts hit them on the counter. Neymar's pass to Edinson Cavani gave the striker a chance to shoot. His effort was blocked by Jordi Alba but the ball looped up into the air, tempting Marc-Andre ter Stegen to come for it. Neymar reacted too quickly for him, however, reaching the ball before the German goalkeeper to nod home the equaliser that would secure PSG's place in the final.

They will meet five-time Champions League winners Bayern Munich after they defeated Manchester City 2-1 in the second leg to go through 4-2 on aggregate.

The highlight of the four semi final matches came in the 24th minute at the Allianz Arena when Leon Goretzka scored an outrageous goal to open up Bayern's aggregate lead to 3-1. Serge Gnabry's right footed cross took a wicked deflection on its way into the box where Goretzka was waiting. Having to adjust his position with the flight of the ball now behind him, Goretzka unleashed a sublime overhead kick that was struck with so much power that it left Ederson with no chance in the City goal.

That had deflated the visiting side who were looking to claim their first Champions League final appearance themselves. When Rodri clattered through the back of Joshua Kimmich inside the area just four minutes before the break the dream was all but over for another year. Robert Lewandowski stepped up and smashed his penalty into the top corner to extend their lead.

There was at least one moment of joy for the travelling fans as Riyadh Mahrez pulled one back after the break to give City a glimmer of hope. David Silva's ball forward set Sergio Aguero free. Looking up he spotted Mahrez free at the back post and drilled a low cross hard across the face of the goal. Mahrez scuffed his first attempt, hitting it straight at a sprawling Manuel Neuer, but fortunately for him it fell back to him and he made no mistake with the second chance.

Despite that giving City a chance to get into the match, Bayern then controlled the match from that point onwards and limited City to just a handful of half chances.

Bayern and PSG have faced off just eight times in their history, with only two meetings since 2001. PSG lead the head-to-head 5-3 but have always favoured home soil, winning all of their matches at home against the German champions. The two clubs will meet at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on 30 May to crown the 2020 Champions League winners.

United bag late winner; Leverkusen overturn first leg deficit

https://i.ibb.co/DpzG1Ls/NINTCHDBPICT000568625536-e1583443134209.jpg

Manchester United's Odion Igahlo scored a last minute goal to knock out five-time Europa League champions Sevilla.

For 179 minutes of the semi final tie both teams were unable to find the back of the net, but a mistake from Sevilla goalkeeper Tomáš Vaclík gifted United a golden opportunity in the final minute of normal time, one Igahlo was not going to waste.

Sevilla had been largely disappointing on home soil despite coming into the match having never lost a Europa League semi final match at home.

Bruno Fernandes, who has been a revelation since joining the Manchester club in January, wasted a golden opportunity in the first half after weaving his way into the box only to drag his shot wide.

Half time came and went with little action of note, until midway through the second half the away side again threatened to take the lead, this time striking the post. Fernandes' flick with the outside of the boot set Anthony Martial in and he unleashed a first time shot that looked destined to find the bottom corner. Vaclík's incredible reactions allowed him to get the slightest of touches on the ball, deflecting it onto the inside of the post. Still not out of the woods, the ball preceded to roll the entire length of the goal line before being hacked away to safety.

Sevilla's fortunes would end in the dying moments of the game as Vaclík turned from hero to villain. His sloppy distribution allowed Daniel James to intercept and set Igahlo in on goal behind the defence. From a tight angle the Nigerian striker made no mistake, sending the travelling fans into pandemonium.

It will be only the second time United have contested the Europa League final, winning their only previous visit 2-0 against Ajax in 2017.

They face Leverkusen who overcame a first leg deficit to fly through to the final with four goals at home. It didn't take long for them to squash Istanbul Basaksehir's lead, Moussa Diaby smashing the ball into the roof of the net from close range on five minutes.

Basaksehir didn't let that get them down, though, and they had a vital away goal to move back ahead in the tie just seven minutes later. Enzo Crivelli's Cruyff turn created some separation between him and the full back before whipping in a delightful ball that curled away from the goalkeeper. Irfan Kahveci held off the defender to meet it on the volley and knocked it into the net before getting sandwiched by both goalkeeper and defender.

Leverkusen were gifted a way back into the match on the stroke of half time as Alexandru Epureanu dived in unnecessarily on Wendell giving the referee no choice but to point to the spot. However, Kai Havertz, usually reliable in front of goal, saw his penalty pushed round the post by Mert Günok.

The hosts came out after the break and levelled things up, although they still needed another goal to go through because of Basaksehir's away goal. The goal came through a perfectly worked free kick as Wendell laid it off to Karim Bellarabi on the edge of the box before the German winger smashed it into the top corner.

With 14 minutes to go Leverkusen had their lead in the tie, albeit in rather fortunate circumstances. Diaby's through ball set Lucas Alario through one-on-one with the keeper, who made an impressive save from close quarters. However, the ball bounced back off the defender trying to chase Alario and fell back into the Leverkusen player's path with an open goal in front of him.

Basaksehir knew another away goal would be enough but Leverkusen put an end to their hopes in the 86th minute. After Bailey had beaten his man down the left he drilled a low cross that just evaded the dive of Günok and found Havertz five yards from goal. He made no mistake this time, putting Leverkusen into their second ever Europa League final and first since 1988.

I was willing them to hold on. If it hadn’t been for the stunning free kick routine they might have done so.

Should be a good final in both the UCL and UEL, though.

Ok, so to start the save from when football stopped you need to go to this thread and install what's needed and follow the instructions: https://sortitoutsi.net/downloads/view/50904/amls-real-fixtures-and-results-custom-start-date?page=2#comment_520700

Unfortunately this only covers certain leagues and the Cup results can't be adjusted so the fixtures won't be exact. I've had to use excel spreadsheets with the tables and the fixtures exactly as they should have been to ensure it's as accurate as possible.

I've attached the save file which will take you to May 25th as well. You will need the databases from the link above.

So did you have to manually add in the championship fixtures? As when I loaded up that save (with the correct files from that other thread) Leeds were in the playoffs etc

I put the table as it was in real life into an excel spreadsheet and just used the results and updated that, ignoring what FM was saying. I’ve not played around with editing fixtures/results I’m afraid so I don’t know how easy/difficult it is.

Yes, started the season from the custom start date that AML had set in his update.

I took the standings from the BBC website for all the leagues and pasted them into an Excel spreadsheet each. I then took the fixtures as they were scheduled and matched them up with the results from FM. I would then manually update the league table in the spreadsheet using the results from the month, which is a process that takes time.

AML sorted the top leagues in Europe so that they are all as accurate as possible (I still used the spreadsheet for these, though, to be 100% accurate). I assume you can use the fixtures/results editing method to do the Championship as well but, like I said, you can't fix the FA Cup results so it will always be a little off.

Highlights

West Brom are champions. They beat QPR 2-1 at The Hawthorns whilst Leeds conceded late at home to Charlton to only draw 1-1. There were no changes in the playoff places either, meaning Fulham will play Preston whilst Nottingham Forest and Brentford square off in the other semi final.

At the bottom end of the table, Hull's failure to get three points at Cardiff gave Birmingham the chance to jump out of the drop zone with a 1-0 victory against Derby, sending Hull down to League One along with the already relegated Luton and Barnsley.

Highlights

With the league title already decided, May was all about those European places and the relegation zone. Manchester United continued their incredible late season form to drop just two points during the month and take third spot from Leicester City and Chelsea. The latter slumped to defeats against Norwich, Liverpool and Wolves to finish an incredible 7th. Leicester City qualified for the Champions League with 4th, whilst Arsenal surged in the latter stages of the season to take 5th. Wolves finished 6th, their highest ever Premier League finish, whilst Tottenham just edged out Sheffield United for 8th on goal difference.

Down the bottom end of the table, Watford were relegated alongside Aston Villa and Norwich. Aston Villa had five games still to play in May, more than any other team, but they lost them all and ended up rock bottom. Norwich beat Chelsea but it wasn't enough to save them from the drop. Watford went into the final day of the season needing to beat Arsenal at the Emirates but slumped to a 3-0 defeat, letting Brighton off the hook for a final day defeat to Burnley.

Highlights

Barcelona secured their third straight La Liga title, the second time they have done so since the turn of the millennium. Real Madrid were in with a chance right until the last day but a draw against relegated Leganes, matched with Barcelona's 3-0 victory over Alaves meant they would finish four points behind their rivals. Atletico Madrid overtook Real Sociedad for third place with victory over them on the final day, whilst Getafe leapfrogged both Valencia and Bilbao to finish 6th, their joint second highest finish to follow up last year's best of 5th.

Espanyol jumped ahead of Leganes but it wasn't enough to save them from relegation as they finished four points adrift of Celta Vigo.
