Lauching FM from Dock on Mac (No Steam Connection)

Hey, on previous games I have always got a shortcut to both FM and FM Editor in my Dock on my MacBook. When clicked they connect to Steam, then the game launches, however on this version for some reason they launch without Steam when clicked, this is particularly annoying as then I have no connection to enable the in-game editor... perhaps I am doing something wrong but any ideas how I can ensure that the shortcut launching with Steam?

Perhaps people are just going to Steam and playing the game from there? Curious to hear if anyone else has had this experience... thanks in advance!
