got to be very early 1980s

but what was the line up as I see 2 left backs there and  3 Strikers at a time when it was 4-4-2

so had to be 4-3-3 or one of Francis/Woodcock played as a winger 

Rix was a good LM but no winger so its really odd seeing this as I have no memory of the game and England would nearly always play with at least 1 sometimes 2 out and out wingers and defo a RB at RB 

IIRC Mills played the odd game at RB for Ipswich but no way he would be playing there for England they had some really good options then..must be a competition/ finals and RB was out injured/suspended 

Remember that era growing up as a kid, England were shocking in the 80s, Spain 82 was rubbish, Mexico 86 should have been much better

italia 90 was my first trip to watch England as a 20 y/o great couple of weeks trying to outdrink the Irish and avoiding the police.

90 was the highlight of the world cups, euro 96 was brilliant though

it was 82 a second group stage when there was another set of 3 team groups

group was very strong Spain Germany England ..both 0-0 games and out of the WC unbeaten

squad was this and had 2 really good RBs and  the brilliant S.Coppell had started all other games on RW

check out the crazy numbers dont recollect that either- Hoddle 9 Brooking 3 coppell 5

The game has moved on so much, look at the ages of the players

no teenagers at all

That was down to the person picking the squad

personally I enjoyed the game far more then than now
