Thought it would be a nice idea to have a thread regarding the Euros.

The idea is for users to select a nation and follow them through the tournament giving match reports/scouting players etc especially with respect to the smaller nations this would be handy.

Group A: Turkey, Italy, Wales, Switzerland

Group B: Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Russia

Group C: Netherlands, Ukraine, Austria, North Macedonia

Group D: England, Croatia, Scotland, Czech Republic

Group E: Spain, Sweden, Poland, Slovakia

Group F: Hungary, Portugal, France, Germany

Big decision for me is do Wales ditch back 3 to go 4 at the back and allow Ramsey to play in CM as IMO he only plays if there is a 3 man CM

Got to go with the big man Moore as the striker👍 hopefully he is going to cause some damage in a really hard group Italy probably the form team in Europe on a superb run under Mancini[24 unbeaten on the bounce]  and Turkey  drew+won v France in the 2 qualification games

Hoping that a win v Swiss may secure 3 rd spot fingers crossed and really looking forward to the games and once again causing a few upsets on the way, a big ask though as Wales are up against it, but its great to have back to back Euros after decades of soooooooooooooo many near misses

Wales 0-0 in last warm up game

very muddled first half performance with a highly changed starting  XI

second half better but IMO  Moore has to be  the first option up front…. the big call still is will it be 3 at the back

Die Mannschaft 6-0 up v Latvia and looking very good 👍 if Wales cant do it😁 then fully behind them in the group of death

what a player Kimmich is World class DM or WB, would prefer to see him at DM but 2 class acts also playing in CM so nice problem to have

Gündoğan's strike for 2-0 🤛

not long to wait now and I hope Italy v Turkey is a good start

Verratti is still out for the Azzurri and now Pellegrini has a knock and Italy are trying to bring in Gaetano Castrovilli as a replacement if UEFA allow it

some facts-

Italy have won eight consecutive games, three short of their record winning streak (set in 2019). 27 games unbeaten now in a row

Roberto Mancini's men have kept clean sheets in each of those 8 victories and have gone 785 minutes (over 13 hours) without conceding.

Despite playing 38 matches at the European Championship, the Italians have never scored more than twice in a single game.

They have been involved in eight goalless draws at the tournament, more than any other side.

Turkey  have lost their opening game at all four of their previous European Championship appearances.

Turkey have never beaten Italy, losing seven of 10 encounters, although the two most recent fixtures - friendlies in 2002 and 2006 - ended in 1-1 draws.

Think this will be close with 2 solid central defences but Italy should just about do it

Turkey well organised but defending very deep, too deep IMO and very narrow seem to be guarding the penalty box asking to be dominated by Italy

and there should be lots of space down flanks Spinazzola should be bombing on

Bernardeschi has been utterly dreadful totally out of form and should be nowhere near this classy Italy team, his touch and passing has been amateur and thats being kind

The big man gets Wales the point

Swiss by far the better team, but Wales hung in there👍

Wales’ Kieffer Moore celebrates after scoring his side’s equaliser against Switzerland.

 Hope Eriksen is ok

sounds like it was his heart? havent seen it and dont want to just hope he gets well

I remember Kieffer Moore when he played here in Norway. He got 9 games for Viking and exactly zero goals to his credit. To go from that to drawing against the Swiss is a real cinderella story nonetheless.

I'm happy to see Eriksen recovered and well. I really hope to see him back on the pitch. It would be an awful way to end your career.

As for my team during the tournament, I always love the underdogs, and Finland making it for the first time is a prime choice.

Yes Moore has done well and is a good solid old fashioned no9

Erikson is terribly sad not seen it or want to and by all accounts the TV coverage stayed on his wife as the poor lad was fighting for his life…disgraceful wheres the moral compass of these scumbags

Finland is a great achievement and I hope they do an Iceland but IMO the game should not have continued

nice to see the oranje playing👍  not the best version there has been over the years[defence very weakened by injuries too] but always will be special to me having been lucky enough to see the Cruyff team play live😍

they were special indeed with a maestro running the show- sheer elegance

glad Weghorst starts he has been superb in Bundesliga this season and fully deserves his chance
