100% this
And thanks to rabcp for all the hours he put into this, it gave us a lot of enjoyment 🙂

The modding community is no where near as big as it use to be, numbers are dropping and there is no new blood coming though. A bit like the “big 6” owners in the EPL I think SI view us as legacy players who are more hassle than their are worth and wouldn’t be too bothered if we stopped playing.
The core FM players don’t mod the game bar anything they can get from the steam workshop, look at any vlog or screenshot on social media, they are all un-modded, I’ve certainly noticed a significant decrease in dowloads of the adboard patch over the past decade, one of the first ever version had over 100,000 downloads, I don’t think any version in the last 4 years has had as much as 10,000.

@rabcp Apologies, it was why one of mine were taken down so i presumed it was related. When a small number of people use a file it doesnt effect much, but year in and year out this patch gets more popular, maybe too much so that they have no choice but to act. There are probably a lot of variables behind this decision
rabcp
No need to apologise, I believe there issue with the patch was 100% down to revenue as it both reduced the impact of there in game ads while possibly put companies of from paying to advertise in game. Like you say there may be other variables at play too.

I've only recently discovered this mod & got it up & running so it's a bit disappointing to see it taken down. Just want to say thanks for the hard work & hopefully it can continue elsewhere as it brings a lot to the game.

Isn't it a “wee bit” ironic that companies want to shove their logos, jingles, brand names and titles into anything and everything - and then when they get some free advertisement in a neutral or even positive context, they loose their shit and claim their “misused” trademark from a literal private, non-profit individual modder who's, if anything, actually doing them a favor.

SI sold out years ago
i have made sure i kept the full 21 packs so just using that in 22
@rabcp s work lives on
mush7
gutted this has been taken down one of the 1st things i add on fm every year luckily i have saved the packs thanks for all the hard work you've put in over the years @rabcp
bartdude
The current adboards still work and I have all previous downloads. I can make my own static boards and edit config files but the the issue for me is not being able to create the video adboards. It's a nonsense from Si but I suspect the paymaster Sega is behind this decision. If in future Si decide to limit or ban third party content then they'd be committing commercial suicide, as it's the FM community contributions that make the game so immersive for the vast majority of us.

I hope the message is clear .. I use google translate
The thoughts are many .. but I would like to focus on one aspect, namely that with the closing of the adboard page a very dangerous precedent was created, let me explain ..
The very essence of the entire site is based on the sharing of Mods which, let's face it, have made it very convenient for SI in selling a product that has never stood up on its own with a game "edited" by (No Fake - championships unlocked - color fix - skin - kits ss 3d standard - faces - backgrounds and much more) so the news that it was simply enough that Sports Interactive "asked" to close that page and that the site managers accepted so lightly frankly surprises me.
It is clear that there is more, and frankly the suspicion I have is that of possible "retaliation" such as complaints or other .. and if this were the case, frankly it would have been honest to say it clearly, we close the page because Sports Interactive he clearly threatened to sue us and put us in court for years, but simply stating that… they asked for it… it seems ridiculous to me.
I reiterate the concept - the entire existence of the site is based on sharing material that the game does not have, at this rate we could see "disappear" any content from this site that "kindly" is requested by Sports Interactive ..

@rabcp I hope you immediately create a blogspot or twitter account. and share your works there
Robert Lovell
hopefully you guys don't kill me but someone has made a link if you need me to post it or keep it on the discord
rabcp
Whoever has made the link has absolutely no right to do so as they have not asked for my permission
Edit: that site already has my permission to host the file, however, as already stated in this thread we cannot post links or name sites that host the file
Robert Lovell
ah roger, ill zip my mouth

Yea I noticed this when they decided to randomly add a league for the future when the suggestion have been shut down every time it was discussed years ago….
The_SouL
Hi,
Would someone be willing to share the full packs for fm21?Thanks in advance.
MOD EDIT: Reminder don't post the file on sortitoutsi again
Footygamer
I don't think it's wise to be specific but let's just say they didn't ask nicely 🙂
Footygamer
Please do not encourage people to post the content again, you risk getting the entire site into trouble.
The_SouL
My bad. I'm sorry. I wont ask
Should I remove the post?
Footygamer
Nah it's okay, serves as a reminder for others not to ask for it either 🙂
Robert Lovell
Also FYI, i appologise but please stop Pming me about the FM21 file as first, I don't have it and I don't know where to get it so I can't and won't help.
As Rabcp has taken this down pretty much everywhere, I hope most of you can understand the seriousness of what likely would occur if this continued.
For those who are somehow still not swayed, use google or anything else, but for obvious reasons stated above asking about it here won't get you anywhere.
X-cyb
hi @rabcp let me know if you have created a page
petepompei
Hi @rabcp I'd just like to thank you for all the work you've put in over the years making the game more realistic and the help you gave me last year when I was stuck creating video adboards.
Cheers.
Bielsa is a Legend
Guys, whilst we are all gutted that @rabcp work being censored in this way, I have had several pms to send the 21 files.
I won’t be doing this as it’s not my work to distribute, we need to respect author content and ownership.
hope you understand.
@rabcp keep your chin up, I have enjoyed a couple of good weekends watching Leeds in pre season “friendlies” against the hibbees,
good luck for the future
Rich
i had download the Files in past “FM22 Adboard Project v1.0” (incl. Readme File)
so, with the new FM22 Update 22.2.0 = it is not possible to use the Files fine ?
or it is just the situation, that that files works fine - but on that forum, the files we did not get there, because SI said: No
Bielsa is a Legend
Legally if we already have them, there is nothing preventing us using the mod
the issue is around hosting and distribution I think.
Thanks for your Message @R Charlston
okay, we will see, what the future brings…i hope the community find a new way to release them and to have the possibilities for further Updates.
🙂
Barkermush
I doubt the community will find a way, as SI will force them to remove the links like they have done with rabcp. It looks like if anybody did try, they would be in trouble as SI seem to want this stopped.
Also, they will most likely end up using some hard coded video ads in future FM's (like rabcp said) so further updates would be useless, unless you plan on staying with FM22 or older.
It's clearly a money thing more than a copyright thing, SI/Sega don't want their extra revenue from the ads they are paid to advertise impacted.
luca cesar
It's absolutely ridiculous that they forbid us from modifying a game we already bought. If it was an free-to-play game maybe it would make sense.
