Help with substitutes rules for the FIFA World Cup

Hi there,

I'm trying to change the substitutes rules for both World Cup Files (32 and 48 team) present in the game following 

https://sortitoutsi.net/content/57138/how-to-access-advanced-rules. When it comes to testing, I come across the following message ‘No division levels found to test’. Could anyone be kind enough to take a look at my file  and let me know where I went wrong, please?

if you have followed the set up of the file exactly as outlined in my FAQs you wont have the option to test, it will be greyed out like this

Thanks for your answer. I redid my file, carefully following all your steps but I'm still doing something wrong because when I open the game the World Cup has completely disappeared! The qualifiers are still there as I haven't touched them but the final tournament si no longer there.

In your file how many comps have you changed? if so are they showing here in this list,for you it will be only one

This is a file I have created with an expanded WC/Euros/Afcon by increasing the number of teams in the finals

therefore  I have had to also change the qualifiers to send more teams to the finals - all of those 11 comps have to be shown as below or the various comps wont run in the game, when you start a new save.So if this is blank the WC wont show when you load a new game-the qualifiers will happen but no finals!

Also this is a non verification file- greyed out[if I did try to verify it will show errors as the verification process is dreadful/poor/bugged- eg not enough teams /too many teams/date range outside etc etc]

The real test is run it in game on holiday etc

Thanks for your answer and the explanations. I didn't realise that I had to redo the whole World Cup Qualifiers, UEFA Euros and AFCON just to be able to change the subs rule in the final tournament! All I wanted was to increase the number of substitutes used in the current (32 team) and the forthcoming (48 team) format. I wanted to change it from 3 from 12 to 5 from 12 in both instances, and that's all! I don't even want to touch anything else (ie increasing number of participants, prize money etc…). It's a pity that a simple change like that requires rewriting the whole qualification process! Once again thank you for your help.

Hi you didt tag correctly it has to show like this[in blue] or it isnt done properly and no notification is sent😉 

you may have misunderstood, I was just showing what my project was-a total overhaul of the WC/Euros/Afcon finals and so I had to also redo the qualifiers to increase the amount of qualified teams.

if just increasing the subs then no need to edit any other comps at all just the world cup nothing else

you didnt state if if you have done this-below?

Thanks for your answer and sorry about the tagging, I thought I had!

Here's a screenshot of my editor. I'm sure it's here I go down the wrong path as I directly edit the subs rule for both World Cup File from here. Would you be kind enough to point me in the right direction, please? Also, If I were to change the subs rules (and only that) for the qualifiers, would I have to redo the whole qualifying or can I just edit it one at the time by confederation? Cheers.

I have answered this clearly just edit the FIFA World Cup. If its just the finals then thats it.

The FAQs section which you have read  shows how to edit the subs in a comp😉

Now in your last post you also state you want to edit substitute rules in the various qualifiers if so then obviously you will have to do this in those too, one by one

When you click rules if it isnt greyed out like this- then the file hasnt been set up correctly in the XML notepad +++editing process 

as said previously this file isnt meant to be verified/tested in the editor, so this is how you bypass this and ‘’force verification''

I've cracked it! I've holidayed through the 2022 World Cup and it works. Thank you very much for your explanations and help.

because you havent changed the structure of the comp[your change is minor] or its qualifiers you should be fine, but just do a check to make sure the AFCON +Euros are also running normally as they can play up when the World Cup is changed FYI

Thanks for letting me know about the AFCON and Euros, I've checked and they are both running ok. Is your 64 team World Cup available to download at all anywhere? Once again thanks for your help, appreciate it.

my file is linked to several others where the nations league has been replaced with a bi annual comp for nations being played in the European summer in between WC+EUROS, and B teams playing in some comps, some tweaking still needed but wont be possible until the editor's many bugs get resolved
