Download of Data Update

Hello, I am pretty sure I put my other message in wrong section!

I am currently watching Hood Gaming's ‘How To Play FM23 Right Now’ and I was told to install the FM22 Data Update file. When I try and install it, it doesnt download as a .zip and instead comes as a folder. In this folder is one xml file. If this is ok, I then have a second issue, when he reloads the game, he is presented with ‘Custom Start Date’ in Africa  in the photo attached. I however do not have access to this (also attached) 

Any help will be of great use!

1. You installed it in the right way, it's only an xml file
2. The custom start date isn't part of this update, it's a different file that @kingrobbo has uploaded here: https://sortitoutsi.net/content/59168/kingrobbo-fm22-custom-start-date-file

that custom start date is the one I put up linked as above
