Why can't I get any tactic to work?

I'm going crazy! I've had a pretty amazing journey with Wrexham from the National League up to the Premier League. However, it has been problematic year after year that I can't find a game or tactic that works.

At home I create nothing, concede early goals and then get countered all the time. I've tried playing wide, narrow, high tempo, low tempo, passing the ball to empty areas. All. It also doesn't matter if I play with a high backline or lower. In the Championship it flowed just fine with a balanced mentality at home and defensively away, but there is no flow in the game. I can understand that there are differences coming as a newcomer, but as I said have had this problem for several seasons.

Maybe it's that I download from here and give it a few matches, then jump to another tactic? I do not know. Just feel like it's hopeless. Sometimes it works well with a straight 4-4-2, sometimes with 4-2-3-1 and Gegenpress, while other times it is better to play 4-3-3 and try to counter. But the fact that I can't find any common thread drives me crazy and I really lose all desire to play. Boring.

You can't just plug-and-play tactics anymore. Also, if your teams isn't good enough for the Premier League, you'll get battered anyway.

 I always tweak. And I know that the game over the years has developed and got more realistic that demands “hands on”-flexibility. 

On the other hand I can get frustrated when I, for example, use a 5-3-2 or something similiar and get nothing out of it. My opponents often closes me down or a 5-3-2 instead leaks like shit. But when I instead have some other formation and my opponent rocks a 5-3-2 I get HAMMERED. 

Guess it comes down to quality, player roles, instructions and yada yada.. but you get the point. 

The most of all is the quality.Too soon to have wins!!

Yeah, surely! I'm at the complete bottom when it comes to salaries in Premier League, but for that I can't just sit here all season and watch my team get hammered game after game.

Haha, I even tried the FMRTE to try and boost things…. did it help? NO!
