Hello everyone and welcome to my long term and final FM23 save that should last until the release of the new version of the game.

I've been looking for inspiration for a new save for a long time and I found it in the north of Europe, more specifically in Iceland, which is why this career is called Life in the North.

The club I chose for this save is called HK. They currently compete in Iceland's second division, and they play their matches at Korinn Stadium, which has a capacity of 1564 seats. The specificity of this stadium is that it is completely covered, that is, matches are played under the roof due to the extreme cold in Iceland.

My first goal will be to promote HK to the first Icelandic league, considering that they are among the strongest clubs in the second league. Once we establish ourselves in the first division, the aim will be to win it, considering that HK has never won the first division or the Icelandic Cup. After that, we will work on a European breakthrough.

For now, I think I will write reports 3 times per season - the first after the main transfer period (in Iceland it is over the winter), the second report halfway through the season, and the last report at the end of the season.

In the reports, I will include the most important things that happened during the season, from matches, through transfers to finances and other important things.

That would be all for this first report for now, so without further ado, I'll get down to sorting out the team and tactics, and I'll get back to you at the end of the transfer period. Stay tuned...

HK - season 1 (22/23) season report ⅓

Hi everyone and welcome back to my FM23 career with Icelandic club HK.

Since the transfer period has passed, it's time for our first report. Let's start with the transfers.

TRANSFERS

There were no outgoing transfers, and these two that you see were done before I took over the club. During the games we played, I judged that we lacked depth in defense, so I brought in two defenders, namely one stopper and one right back.

Oboroakpo is a very high-quality stopper for this level and he will surely be of great use to us in our team for promotion to the first league. Esieme is also a quality player who can play all positions in defense, and he will also be very useful for us.

DEILDABIKAR

The Icelandic League Cup is called Deildabikar and is played by 22 teams (3 groups of 6 teams and one group with 5 teams). We started the competition in group B, where we were joined by 3 first-division clubs and 2 second-division clubs. With an excellent game, we achieved 4 wins and one draw and thus qualified for the semi-finals of the league cup. in the semi-finals, we were eliminated on penalties by the first league team Stjarnan. It was an excellent competition for us, which showed that we are the main favorites to win the second league.

That would be all for this first short report. Now we have the championship ahead of us, where we want to justify our role as favorites with a strong start, and we will meet again at the half-season with, I hope, good news. Stay tuned...

HK - season 1 (22/23) report ⅔

We're in the middle of the season, so it's time for our second report.

The championship and main cup competitions are underway, so let's see how we stand.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Iceland's second league is called Inkasso-Deild Karla and 11 clubs are competing this season. It is played in two rounds, that is, 20 games. After 10 games played, we are in first place, with 8 wins and 2 draws. We have a big 8 point lead, or 9 ahead of Grott, who has a game in hand.

MAIN CUP

The main cup is called Molkjurbikarin, and we started our performance in the second round with a convincing 4-0 win against the lower league side Aegir.

In the third round, we drew the first league club Keflavik, which we eliminated after a penalty shootout.

In the fourth round, it's a real spectacle, we play against Iceland's biggest club Valur at home. After 90 minutes, the score is 1-1, and in overtime we score 2 goals and advance to the quarterfinals.

In the quarter-finals, we have a duel at home against the current champion of the first league, Vikingur. It was another uncertain match, and we won 2-1 and booked our ticket to the semi-finals.

Of the other news, I don't think there is anything worth mentioning, especially not the terrible youth intake preview. That is why you will hear me at the end of the season, in the third report of this season, where I hope to bring news about winning the second league. Stay tuned...

HK - season 1(22/23) season report 3/3

Our first season in Iceland is over. It was very successful, but regret remains because we were very close to the greatest success in the history of the club. So let's go.

CHAMPIONSHIP

In the championship, we did what we wanted, and we won it in a very convincing way, without defeat. In 20 games, we achieved 16 victories and 4 draws, and entered the first league in a dominant manner.

CUP

In the cup, we missed a great opportunity to achieve the greatest success in the club's history. In the last report, you saw that we made it to the semi-finals of the cup, and then we went one step further.

In the semi-final we defeated Leiknir 2-1, and won a place in the final. A club from the second league, Fjolnir, was waiting for us there. It was a great opportunity to win the trophy and qualify for the European Conference League, but unfortunately we lost 0-1. Thus, Fjolnir, which finished the season in fourth place in the second league, will play in the European competition next season.

PLANS AND FINANCES

Now we have a transition period. We will certainly bring in some new players, while we will get rid of some old ones. Since the finances are not so great, the focus will be on free agents and maybe some loan.

That would be all from the first season, and we will hear from you again when the transfer window and the League Cup competition are over. Stay tuned...
