We didn’t have a great run at the end of the season, but we did manage to move up one position in the league securing us an extra £1.5m.
Overall we had a great season for a promoted club. I was surprised to see Spurs win the league and Everton do so well. It is a finish we can build on for next year and hopefully compete for Europe.
If you look at the yearly salary we look like massive underdogs. The squad will need strengthening going into next year.

The squad coped well in their first season in the Premiership, particularly my new strike partnership. If I fast-forward 3 years into the future I need a new right back, left back, winger and two centre midfielders.
A year at the top has massively improved the clubs finances. We sit with over £35m in the bank, I put that down to a tight wage budget. We also continue to rise in the world rich list.

We got a very good budget going into the new season. There are a few positions that need to be strengthened.
Transfer Targets
Full backA lot of players left, meaning I need to sign a few players. This gives us £25m to spend on players in total.
My first signing of the transfer window Carl Jenkinson can play over the full defence has joined on loan until the end of the season.

I was re-united with Gary Mackay-Steven, paying Stoke £3.5m for his services after a year in the Championship.
Adam Smith cost us £2m from Tottenham and gives us excellent options at the full back, being able to play either side.
Tom Cleverly followed a day later on loan until the end of the season for half of his wage and offers us an option over the midfield area.
I needed a long term replacement for David Marshall who wants to leave at the end of the season so I brought in Alex Smithies on a free transfer.
Young Romanian Nicusor Stanicu looks like a real prospect with 23 caps at the age of 22. He is definitely a part of my long term plan for the club.

We had a decent pre-season which allowed some of the new signings to show me what they can do and win a place in the squad.
Striker Joe Mason was the latest player to leave as he wanted more first team football and hadn't developed as well as I had hoped.
Six foot three Danny Batth is one of the best young English defenders in the game so snapping him up at £3.5m was a no brainer. I tried to sign him last year but we lacked the funds.
Welsh international Hal Robson-Kanu should add some much needed options on the wings and provide competition for Nathan Redmond and Gary Mackay-Steven, he also cost £3.5m
Rene Garly was my final signing of the window, the young Dane cost just £2m.

The Liverpool job became available and I applied for it. The board were unhappy and forced me to either apologise or resign. I choose the later. I felt I had taken them as far as I can without a tycoon takeover.
The club now sit 10th in the table, with Liverpool 11th. I leave Cardiff with a strong squad, more than capable of a top half finish. My final match as manager we beat rivals Swansea, a good way to part company with the club.
Now we play the waiting game.

I'm sure other clubs will come calling soon enough.

Cheers mate hope you keep following.
Cheers mate! Hopefully I get it, it would be a good challenge.

Why did I choose to leave Cardiff?
I have a good budget to invest in the squad in January and a few high earners will leave the club.
SR67
I’ve joined the club with them sitting 11th in the league and have already qualified for the last 32 of the Europa League. I am aiming to finish 7th place, one place below our predicted finish at the end of the season.
Liverpool have a lot of high earners who aren’t pulling their way and will be moved on, mostly at the end of the season.

After such a good start beating Everton 2-1 at Anfield. It all went downhill fast after giving away the lead to Werder Bremen and picking up a single point from the remaining fixtures.
A lot of overpaid players left and raised £56m to re-invest into the squad. With this I managed to bring in 5 good players.
Tom Huddleston is a good signing for us at only £6m, he still has a few good year left in the tank and will be a big part of my plans taking the club forward.
Gylfi Sigurdsson is another good signing, costing us £8m from Borussia Dortmund. He offers an extra option in the middle of the park and a creative addition to the squad.
I braught in Guillermo Burdisso to replace Daniel Agger and Martin Skertel he looks solid at the back and cost us £10m from Palermo.
My most expensive signing was Mateo Kovacic from Inter for a cool £15m, the youngster has huge potential and could be a future captain.
I needed another defender for cover at the back and Joel Veltman joined the club for a bargain £4m form Ajax.

We’ve turned things round dramatically since I brought in my new players. February was a big month for us that left us 3 points off 7th place with some tough fixtures out the way. We also sailed through to the Europa League last 16 with a 6-0 win over Basel.
Manchester City look to be running away with the title again and both of my old clubs aren’t doing to well in the standings.
