How to involve striker in 4-2-3-1?

Hi everyone. 

I've tried at least five of 4-2-3-1 tactic with IF/iW, I love that formation, it suits for my team very well, I've got pretty decent results but half of my games looks like this:

As you can see, striker just beeng literally ignored by the other teammates, ended with 6.3 and 0.0 xG or something like that. 

So, I've tried through seasons:

  • change roles for AF/CF/Tm (beeing desperate, lol)
  • change roles and mentality for IF/IW
  • hit early crosses/work ball into box
  • all types of crosses
  • attacking/positive mentality
  • change players

And it doesn't really helped. Morale is excellent as well as team cohesion, so I just have no idea what else to do. At least he is pretty good aerial-wise, so coughs corners, you know... But all the other goalscoring work through seasons is made by midfielders. 

 

Or it's just won't work because of current match engine?
