Right, I am coming to the end of my first season with Dortmund, just three points behind Bayern with four games to play (one being Bayern).

And generally my squad has had a good season all averaging above 7 apart from Mario Gotze. This is my first experience with a top team on FM13 as generally im a championship side in England or Villa getting as big as it gets.

Gotze in real life is a quality player and generally his stats are impressive on the game but I just cant seem to get the best out of him.

Moritz Leiner has impressed me more and he is only rated at a 2.5 star at the moment so what am i doing wrong?

I play a 4-2-3-1 formation just behind the striker - I have tried him as a Advanced Playmaker and a Inside forward but its just not working. In 24 appearances he averages a 6.97 scoring 2 and assisting 2.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

He is pretty athletic, maybe an advanced playmaker is a waste of his pace and agility. I'm always a fan of a treq, but it's pretty much dependent on the players around him being able to cover his defensive deficiencies, particularly in a high closing down tactic. Have you tried a simple attacking midfield role with plenty of running from deep, maybe roam from position? With Lewandowski as an advanced forward I think they should dovetail nicely.

When I was managing Real Madrid I had Gotze playing in a Treq. role and he wasn't bad, chipped in with some goals.
